Championship Day 1B: First Break

$3,500 WPT RRPO Championship (Re-Entry)
$2,000,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 2: 100/200
Flight B Entries: 250

Lexy Gavin

The first break is upon us and the entry count hit exactly 250 as they walked away from the Hard Rock Event Center. The prize pool is over $2.1 million and it will continue to climb.

Lexy Gavin made her South Florida return after a nice run up north and a quick break for the holiday. Before the Thanksgiving holiday, she entered the Borgata Fall Poker Open Championship and went deep for a 14th place finish. Gavin is hoping to surpass that success and put her name on the WPT Champions Cup.

Sheddy Siddiqui

It’s all but a complete lock that the Championship will hit the $2,000,000 guaranteed prize pool before the first break, the question is how high will it go by the time registration closes at 10:15pm.

One of the new entries is SHRP favorite Sheddy Siddiqui. The South Florida pro has plenty of big results including a deep WSOP Main Event run, second place in the Coco WSOP Circuit Main Event a few weeks ago, and fourth place in this tournament last year.

Dutch Boyd

The Flight B entry count continued to climb and it is inching up towards the magic number to push the prize pool over the $2,000,000 Guarantee. It will get there, now it’s a chase to see how fast.

Dutch Boyd is making his first appearance of the series. The poker pro is in town looking for his first WPT title to go along with his three WSOP bracelet.

A WPT Championship, WSOP bracelet winner, and a two-time SHRPO Big 4 champ sit down at a table.

A rough few spots for Table 10 to get through with WPT Jacksonville winner Tony Tran, 2017 WSOP $3,000 bracelet owner Harrison Gimbel, and 2017/2018 back-to-back $2,650 SHRPO Big 4 champ Alex Foxen in the 5-6-7 seats. Making things a little tougher, former SHRP Player of the Year contender Nigel Murray occupies the 8-seat.

There are few soft tables but this one seems to be a little harder than most.

We had a great group of players yesterday and we can expect much of the same today as we roll out the second and final starting flight of the $2 Million GTD WPT RRPO Championship. Flight A drew 417 entries to leave the field only 208 entries shy of the mark and we should get there pretty early in the day.

Of those 317 starters, 149 players made it through to Day 2 on Sunday with Ajay Gnanasambanthan leading the way.

Today will play out the same as yesterday. Players will start with 40,000 deep stacks and levels last 60 minutes during Day 1 and Day 2. They will switch to 90 minutes for Day 3 and Day 4 until six remain for the WPT live-streamed final table. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 10:15pm and they day will come to an end after Level 10.

Cards fly again at noon and we will have all the action.

Jacob Bazeley

This is the sixth running of the RRPO Championship and it has continued to grow throughout the years. We’ve had six different champions with three of them in the field so far.

First it was defending champ Michael Newman and 2013 winner Matt Waxman took a seat a little later. Now we have Jacob Bazeley in his seat and the 2015 champ is a regular fixture in our games. Rounding out the list of winners, we still expect to see Victor Figueroa (2012), Chris Bolek (2014), and Patrick Mahoney (2016).
