The first day of the 2018 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open series kicked off with the multi-day WPTDeepStacks event but we also awarded our first trophy. Event 2 was a one-day trophy tournament that featured the popular four-card game Limit Omaha/8. By the time it was complete, local regular Michael Moed added another Omaha/8 title to his credit along with the $4,000 payout.

Event 2 drew 368 split-pot enthusiasts and they built the prize pool up to nearly $20,000 by the time the $300 buy-in tournament closed registration. The tournament quickly played down from that point with only 12 players remaining at the dinner break and 10 of them set to earn some money.

It took one level after the return to form the final table ten and Moed was joined by fellow SHRP winner David Shmuel, a player who captured two titles himself during the 2017 RRPO series. Other regulars Carey Pickus and Philippe Goureau also made the money but could not book the win.

After Jordan Stone was eliminated in sixth place, the five remaining players worked out an ICM deal to divide up the remaining prize pool and Moed earned another win as the chip leader.

This tournament title was the tenth of his career and his eighth Omaha/8 victory. Six of those Omaha/8 titles came right here in SHRP games along with a dozen final tables. The win pushed Moed further over the $200,000 mark in career earnings and a nice little boost as he prepares for an expanded family.

Moed and his wife Angela, a very talented player herself, are expecting their second child in a few months and he is excited to meet the newest member of his family.
