Event 7: A Steady Climb

$365 No Limit Hold’em (Freeze-Out)
Level 3: 75/150 | Structure
Entrants: 95

As was the case with yesterday’s 11am freeze-out, it’s a slow and steady drip as players file in to the ballrooms for a shot at WSOP Circuit gold. After kicking off with 34 entrants, the field is now approaching 100 and there’s a number of notables in the game.

Steven Bennett

Steven Bennett is quite familiar with the Florida poker scene. With more than $500,000 in career earnings, Bennett owns titles both here in Hollywood and at the sister property in Tampa. Additionally, yesterday he final tabled the Monster Stack ultimately finishing seventh for just over $4,200.

Lou Stadler

Another familiar face in the field is that of Lou Stadler. Although he doesn’t have the earnings of Bennett, it’s quite possible Stadler knows the Florida poker scene better than anyone in the state. Stadler is involved with various efforts promoting poker including ThePokerSociety.com where viewers can easily access a comprehensive list of tournaments in both Florida and Las Vegas. Stadler is no slouch on the felt, either. He claims more than $120,000 in live earnings along with tournament titles here in Hollywood and in Coconut Creek.

With the Event 5 and Event 6 restarts coming up, much of our live reporting efforts will be concentrated there. We will provide the prize pool for this event after it’s finalized, then pick up the action at the final table.
