“It feels special. Every trophy is special.”

Raminder Singh won his sixth Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood trophy on Tuesday, and he did it in dramatic fashion after being out-chipped 11-to-1 when heads-up play began.

Singh was poised to knock out eventual runner-up Ramon Munoz when they were three-handed, as Munoz was all in with Ah2d against Singh’s AsQs. If Singh’s hand held there, he’d be going into heads-up play with a solid chip lead. But Munoz caught a deuce on the turn to double up and knock Singh down to the short stack.

A short while later, Singh caught a bit of a break.

“Luckily, [Munoz] knocked out the other guy while I had about eight big blinds behind,” said Singh. “And heads-up, anything is possible.”

Munoz had an 11-to-1 chip lead over Singh at the start of heads-up play, but Singh went on to win every hand of consequence, starting off with three come-from-behind double-ups in the first five minutes of heads-up play.

In the final hand, Munoz was all in with As10d, and he needed it to hold against Singh’s KsJh. But Singh spiked a king on the river to cap off his amazing comeback and take home his sixth Seminole Hard Rock trophy.

Singh is now second on the all-time leaderboard for most Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood titles, behind David Prociak.

“David Prociak is one of my very good friends as part of Slumdonkey Poker Group, said Singh. “We have a WhatsApp group on Slumdonkey Poker, and we talk poker strategy and PLO all the time. So I’m very happy for him. I’ll happily take the second spot behind David, and let him have the lead.”

Singh finished his post-victory interview by singing the praises of Tony Burns, who helped build up the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood tournaments into what they are.

“I love this place,” said Singh. “It’s really the people, the staff, and the environment. Starting with Tony Burns, and what he has created. Since Tony Burns came here, he has made all the difference in my mind. The way these things are run, it’s phenomenal.”
