The Big 4 Once Again Carries a Combined $7.5 Million in Guaranteed Prize Pools and is Televised and Livestreamed in Partnership with Poker Night in America

HOLLYWOOD, Fla (June 15, 2016) – The Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open (SHRPO) will return to the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. July 28 – August 16, 2016. The series schedule features an exciting line-up of tournament play, including the return of “The Big 4” – a four-tournament finale to be played in Hard Rock Live and filmed by Poker Night in America.

Televised on CBS Sports Network and live streamed online at www.PokerNight.com, The Big 4 will take place Tuesday, August 16. Carrying a combined $7.5 million in guaranteed prize pools, The Big 4 includes four premier events:

  • $5,250 SHRPO Championship starts at noon on Saturday, August 13. Like last year, the $5 million guaranteed prize pool will pay a minimum of 150 players as well as a feature a $1 million first place guarantee and a minimum payout of $7,500.
  • $2,650 No Limit Hold’em starts at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 14.  The $1 million guaranteed prize pool will pay a minimum of 60 players and boast a $200,000 first place guarantee and a minimum payout of $3,750.
  • $25,500 High Roller starts at noon on Monday, August 15.  The $1 million guaranteed prize pool pays a minimum of eight players at least $37,500 with the winner pocketing a first prize guaranteed at $350,000.
  • $1,100 No Limit Hold’em starts at noon on Monday, August 15. The $500,000 guaranteed prize pool pays a minimum of 75 players at least $1,500 while the tournament champion earns a score of $100,000 or greater.

Last year’s Big 4 was nominated for Innovation of the Year at the Global Poker Index’s American Poker Awards. The first-time finale drew a combined 2,286 entries competing for $9,086,350 in prize pools. Omar Zazay of Texas won the Championship for $1,000,000 while Florida’s Jason Mercier claimed the High Roller title for $652,800. Uruguary’s Fabrizio Cataldi won the $2,650 for $236,400 and Pennsylvania’s David Aldridge came out on top in the $1,100 for $146,100.
