Seminole Hard Rock and WPT Celebrate 10 Years Together this November

Poker pro Harrison Gimbel won the first-ever WPT/Seminole Hard Rock event in November 2010

During this November’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open, the Seminole Hard Rock and the World Poker Tour will celebrate 10 years together running some of the world’s greatest poker tournaments. The pair has enjoyed plenty of milestones — including the Seminole Hard Rock owning the top three largest turnouts in Main Tour history — and it was their first event together that cemented the partnership for years to come.

That event was the Fall Poker Open and it took place in November 2010 at the property’s poker room located outside in Paradise. The tournament was a $5,000 buy-in that drew 298 entries. It was a deep, four-day structure and Florida’s Harrison Gimbel emerged victorious to the tune of a $330,000 score.

Harrison Gimbels hoists the 201) WPT Fall Poker Open trophy.

At the time, it marked Gimbel’s fourth career cash and is still his third-largest to date only behind his WSOP gold bracelet and his PCA Main Event win.

With the WPT set to return to South Florida this November 20th through December 4th for another championship, odds are Gimbel — and a number of other pros and recs alike — will be back in a Seminole Hard Rock poker chair chasing another seven-figure prize pool and six-figure score.
