With the board showing Ks8s6s2h on the turn and about 100K already in the pot, Scott Robbins checked the big blind, James Kirvin moved all in for 134,500, and Robbins went into the tank.

“I don’t think I can fold here,” said Robbins. After some more time in the tank, he added, “Oh my God, this is the toughest call I’ve had to make this tournament.”

Shortly after that, Robbins called and showed his KhQs for a pair of kings with a queen-high flush draw. Kirvin said, “I’m on a draw,” and turned over AsQd for an ace-high flush draw.

As the dealer began to put out the river card, Robbins said, “No spade! No spade!”

The river card was — the Ac. Kirvin paired his ace on the river to win the pot and double up in chips.

Robbins stood up to vent a bit, saying, “I knew I made the right call!”

The next hand, with the board showing AdKh2c10d on the turn, Steve Ekin got it all in for about 125,000 with QdJh for an ace-high flush.

Ekin needed his hand to hold to stay alive against the Ac10h (two pair) of Kirvin, who had outs to a full house.

The river card was the 7h, and Ekin won the pot with his straight to double up in chips.

Steve Ekin  –  310,000  (52 bb)
James Kirvin  –  220,000  (37 bb)
