$250 Omaha 8 or Better
Level 14: Blinds – 2,000/4,000, Limits – 4,000/8,000
Players Remaining: 13/86

On a flop of Kc9s4c, the small blind checks and Jordan Chizick checks from the big blind. Under-the-gun bets and the small blind folds. Chizick check-raises and his opponent calls.

The turn is the Js and Chizick bets. Under-the-gun calls and the river is the 5c. Both players check and Chizick shows QsJc7s3c, good for a flush. His opponent mucks his hand and Chizick scoops the pot.

Jordan Chizick – 132,000

With about 20,000 in the pot already and a completed board of KhQd8c3c5h, a player in middle position checks and Harry Eisenberg bets from the cutoff. The button folds and and middle position calls.

Eisenberg shows Ad8h5s2d, giving him the nut low and two pair. His opponent double checks his hand and then tosses it into the muck. Eisenberg drags the pot and is one of the chip leaders as the tournament is back from dinner break and inches towards the money.

Harry Eisenberg – 115,000

Event 2 is on its second break of the day and the registration desk will shut down for the Omaha/8 tournament when they return. There are 84 entrants currently in the mix and they might pick up a few more during the 15-minute timeout.

Better late than never, Michael Moed took his seat in the tournament during Level 8 and ready to defend his title. He was the last player standing last year in the bigger buy-in, smaller field version. Similar to Robert Campbell mentioned earlier, Moed has a lot of success in this format. He’s earned nine tournament trophies with seven of them coming in Omaha/8 events, six of them during a Seminole Hard Rock Poker series.

Event 2: Omaha Getting Bigger

$250 Limit Omaha/8 (Single Re-Entry)
Level 5: 400/800 Limits
Total Entries: 67

The Omaha/8 event returned from their first break of the day with 67 entrants registered to pass over the count from this event last year. They’re still a ways from hitting the 99 entrants from the Omaha/8 during the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open tournament but they’re going to scare it.

Robert Campell is among the gang playing four-card poker today and he’s always a favorite when he enters these events. He has 12 career tournament victories with 11 of them coming in Omaha/8 games, both Limit and Pot Limit. Five of Campbell’s Omaha/8 titles came in Seminole Hard Rock Poker events so we’ll keep an eye on him as the tournament progresses.

Event 2: Split Pot Poker

$250 Limit Omaha/8 (Single Re-Entry)
Level 1: 100/200 Limits

While the third flight of Event 1 is running in the front of the ballroom, we have the second event of the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown ready to go in the back. Event 2 deviates from the standard No Limit Hold’em tournaments run so far, this time we’re rolling out some Limit Omaha/8.

The four-card split pot game will draw a smaller but very talented field. Robert Campbell holds nearly a dozen Omaha/8 titles and worked hard last night in Event 1 to make sure he bagged chips so he could play the Omaha/8 today.

Tournament entrants will start with 10,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels from start to finish. Late registration is open until the start of Level 9, approximately 4:30pm, and players are permitted a single re-entry if they lose their stack during that time.

This tournament drew 51 entrants during the series last year but we expect more this time with a smaller buy-in and updated structure. Michael Moed is the defending champion and we will be on the look out for him.

This is one-day tournament and we will award our first Seminole Hard Rock Poker trophy later this evening.

  • Players begin with 10,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Late registration/single re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • This is a one-day tournament and plays until completion
