January 18, 2017

Hollywood, Fla. (January 18, 2017) – The first week of the 2017 Lucky Hearts Poker Open officially wrapped up with the conclusion of Event 5. The $360 Eight-Handed Pot Limit Omaha (Re-Entry) drew 119 entries and generated a prize pool of $35,700. After nearly 11 hours of play, 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year David Prociak emerged victorious for a first-place prize of $9,078.

“PLO is probably my favorite game to play,” said Prociak after his win. “I’m not sure if it’s my best game, but I make the most money playing it compared to other games. I live in Orlando, so I’ll drive to Tampa sometimes to play PLO cash at the Seminole Hard Rock there.”

Winning titles at the Seminole Hard Rock is becoming common for Prociak. In August 2016 at the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open, Prociak won this very same event after a four-way chop. This time around, he was the chip leader on the money bubble, the chip leader at the beginning of the final table, and only lost the lead briefly during the course of the final table.

“I chopped this last time when I won, but I had the lead most of the time in this so I was looking to really get this one.”

He followed that SHRPO PLO win with a victory at the Rock N Roll Poker Open in November. Prior to both of those, he also won a bracelet at the World Series of Poker. Additionally, he carded in a victory in a Seminole Casino Coconut Creek Omaha Hi-Low tournament that ran as part of the 2015/2016 SHRP season. It was a great year on the felt for Prociak in 2016, and 2017 is off to an excellent start as well, off the felt, too.

“I also found out during the tournament that my girlfriend is having a baby boy, so it’s been a pretty great day.”
