Debra Dorcy

The Ladies tournament is about ready to hit their first break of the day with 34 entries in the game and more reportedly on their way to join.

Debra Dorcy is among the small, early crowd and one of the more successful in the field. The South Florida grinder hit it big in 2014 when she picked up more than $100,000 for winning the Florida State Poker Championship $1K event.

Event 8: Filling in the Field

$300 Ladies No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 100/200 with a 25 Ante
Entries: 31

The Ladies tournament is moving right along and we’re seeing a lot of talent jump into the game. Jacquelyn Scott was here early and she has a little experience in this style event. The SHRP regular captured the WSOP Ladies Championship in 2015 and the only bracelet winner in the field. So far.

Nancy Thomas is another regular in the ballroom and her most recent big score happened here a few months ago. She made the final table in the massive 4,756-entry opening event of the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open, finishing in second place for a six-digit payday.

We’re used to seeing Cheri Beatty on the west coast of the state but she takes the trip for some of our big events. The cash game player makes the move to tournaments when the price is right and one of her latest payouts came in the Ladies tournament in December during the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Winter Poker Open.
