Svi Soudai

Svi Soudai was already in the lead but he extended it after sending another player out. He was sitting with 274,000 when an early position player shoved for 37,000. Soudai moved all in over the top and the big blind player thought about coming along.

He released and Soudai was in great shape with AcKs dominating KdQs. They both hit the Kh8c3h flop but Soudai was still outkicking his opponent. The board finished 3s and 9c to push Soudai’s stack over 300,000.

Jon Borenstein is making his first appearance of the series and he’s already more than tripled his 30,000 starting stack. It was a different story for Tristan Wade when the Florida pro was a quick enter and exit after dinner.

That’s halfway to Michael Newman’s end-of-day chip lead for Flight A with nine more levels to go. Former SHRP champ Francis Margaglione appears to be the only other player over 200,000 but they have six hours to build a bag.

Al Gomez

With 232 entries in Flight B, they are closing in towards to magic number of 500 combined to hit the guarantee. It will hit this afternoon, now the question is if it gets there before or after the next break in 30 minutes.

We continue to see more of our regulars join the series for the first time including SHRP favorite Al Gomez. He’s always having a good time and can win some cash while enjoying himself. Gomez latest score came earlier this year win he finished second in the $250 Seminole Hard Rock Escalator Series event.

Abbey Daniels

The count continued to climb after the break and we are on the verge of hitting the magic number of 251 to notch the $150,000 guaranteed prize pool. At this rate, doubling up that number is a possibility when you consider the huge Saturday crowd we expect tomorrow.

The field is not getting any softer and we found two more of our successful regulars taking their first shot of the series.

Abbey Daniels hit the big time here in Hollywood back in 2011. She made the big WPT televised final table during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and binked a solid $286K payout.  She has tournament wins from around the state including a Fun in the Sun win right here and a WPT Regional score at our sister room in Coconut Creek.

Nancy Thomas has a handful of final table appearances in our major events but none bigger than last January. She went deep in the 4,756-entry opening tournament during the Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open, one of the biggest fields in state history, and took home more than $100,000 for a runner-up finish.
