Event 8 Flight B: Matt Edge Leads 22 Day 1B Survivors

$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
End of Level 14: 1,500/3,500 with a 2,500 BB ante

Matt Edge

At the end of the flight’s scheduled 14 levels of play, the field was trimmed from 146 entries down to just 22 players. They are led by Matt Edge, who bagged 342,000 and took the overall chip lead away from Rob Jonsson, who bagged the Day 1A chip lead earlier on Monday.

Vadims Ivanovs (275,000), Jose Parra (253,500), Scott Jordan 9224,000) and Alex Cohen (178,000) round out the top 5 Day 1B counts.

Other notables to make it through the day include husband and wife combo David and Gloria Jackson, as well as Mike Beasley.

Between the two flights, there are now 42 players that have secured a spot in Day 2 on Wednesday. Complete chip counts will be posted shortly.

Event 8 Flight B: Vadims Ivanovs Makes a Late-Night Push

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 13: 1,500/2,500 with a 2,500 BB ante
Players Remaining: 27 of 146

Vadims Ivanovs

On a flop of QsTd9c, Ekrem Bozkurt checked from the big blind and a player in middle position checked as well.

Vadims Ivanovs bet 7,000 on the button, Bozkurt folded and middle position called. They were heads-up to the 4h turn card and both players checked to the 3h river.

Middle position checked and Ivanovs bet 21,000. His opponent snap-called. Ivanovs showed AhQd and his opponent mucked his hand.

Ivanovs scooped the pot and moves up the leaderboard as level 13 nears a close. They will play through the end of level 14 before bagging up chips for the night.

Vadims Ivanovs – 172,000

Event 8 Flight B: Alex Cohen Scores a Knockout

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 12: 1,000/2,000 with a 2,000 BB ante
Players Remaining: 36 of 146

Alex Cohen

Alex Cohen raised from under the gun and action folded around to the big blind, who moved all in. Cohen called and was on the right end of a cold deck with his AcAh against the big blind’s AdKd.

The flop was Ks9h5s, giving the big blind a sweat with a pair, but the 7s on the turn and the 5c on the river sent the pot to Cohen.

They broke down Cohen’s stack and counted it down, verifying that he had 86,000 and had the big blind covered by enough that they didn’t bother to break down the stack completely.

Alex Cohen – 153,000

Event 8 Flight B: Dimitry Agrachov Picks Off a Bluff

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 11: 800/1,600 with a 1,600 BB ante
Players Remaining: 45 of 146

Dimitry Agrachov

There was about 26,000 in the pot on a flop of Th8d8s. Dimitry Agrachov checked from the hijack and the player on the button bet 8,000.

Agrachov called and they were still heads-up to the Ts turn card. Both players checked and the 6s came on the river. Agrachov checked and the button bet 20,000. Agrachov didn’t waste much time in calling.

The button showed KcQd and Agrachov tabled AdQc to win the pot.

“Wow. What a call,” said Wally Maddah after the hand. “He called with ace-high. I know not to bluff him.”

“Don’t ever do that,” said Agrachov as he stacked his chips.

Dimitry Agrachov – 155,000

End of Level 14: 1,500/3,000 with a 3,000 BB ante

Rob Jonsson

The first of four flights in the $570 no-limit hold’em drew 154 entries. At the end of the scheduled 14 levels of play, the field was trimmed to just 20 players with Rob Jonsson leading the way.

Jonsson finished the day with 306,500, which is a sizable lead over the rest of the field with Michael Merisier finishing the flight second in chips with 215,500. John Pendl (209,000), Zoltan Czinkota (201,000) and Justin Harvell (199,500) round out the top five chip stacks.

They will come back on Wednesday to combine with the three other flights and play down to a winner. Complete chip counts will be posted shortly.

Event 8 Flight A: Good Early Crowd

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Structure
Level 3: 100/200 with a 200 ante
Flight A Entries: 82

Chris Nominkos

Flight A of Event 1 is bringing a nice early crowd to the Event Center with 82 entries after an hour of play. That is a good sign for another huge prize pool number by the time registration closes on Tuesday evening.

Chris Nomikos knows a little something about making a big result in this tournament. Last November he rolled into his Thanksgiving holiday after banking more than $33,000 for a second place finish in a six-way deal at the $570/$250,000 Guarantee final table in 2017.
