Phil Hui kicked things off by winning the $400 Limit Omaha 8 tournament, Michael Rosenberg won the 600 Mixed PLO last night, and Yuval Bronshtein put his name at the top of our all-time win list (tied) with his tenth trophy after capturing the $1,100 Deep Stack 5-Card PLO title.

We have a special game at 1 pm for those who specialize in the arts of seven-card stud. The $400 Triple Stud tournament will rotate games between Stud, Stud 8, and Razz. Not a flop game in sight.

Players start with 20K deep stacks and all levels last 30 minutes for the one-day trophy event. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 5:30 pm and players may re-enter during that time if they wish. They’ll take off for a 45-minute dinner break at 7 pm and return to find our Triple Stud champ.

Event 9 of the 2023 Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open was a $400 Limit 2-7 Triple Draw (Re-Entry). A field of 61 entries produced a prize pool of $20,435 and getting the biggest piece of it was David Shmuel, winning outright for $7,165.

This marked Shmuel’s ninth SHRP major series trophy, tying him with Michael Newman and trailing only Raminder Singh’s ten.

After heads-up play began, the hands of consequence went David Shmuel’s way before the final hand took place.

Down to about 20,000, Kenneth Po called all in from the button.

On the first draw, Shmuel took three, while Po took four.

Shmuel then stood pat on the second draw, and Po took three.

Shmuel stood pat on the final draw, Po took two, and Shmuel showed Qx9x8x6x4x.

Po showed 5x4x2x and squeezed a 6x for one of his cards to stay very live. However, he paired with a 2x on his second squeeze, locking up the Event 22 outright victory for Shmuel for $7,165. Po finished runner-up for $4,325.
