Event 12: Pot Limit Omaha/8

$200 + $40 Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Blinds: 25/50

Monday afternoon in The Poker Room at Seminole Hard Rock kicks off with Event 12 of the Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘n’ Roll Poker Open”. The event is a $240 buy-in Pot Limit Omaha 8 or Better tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed prizepool.

Pot Limit Omaha/8 is a split pot game with half the pot goes to the high hand and half to the lowest qualifying hand. The pot size betting limits players early in the hand but pot sizes build rapidly as it progresses. Plenty of chasing and gambling will be seen at the tables today.

The tournament will draw a smaller field than No Limit Hold’em but the action of the game will bring in players who love the game. Players have 2 hours to register for the tournament of re-enter if they bust out during the first three levels.

Cards are in the air after staff instructions and we’ll be here all day with live updates.

Three players in the room seem to be dominating their respective tables and the tournament so far. Chris Lewis, Andres Jara, and Dan Suied are all sitting on ~1.4 million in their stacks as they enjoy their dinner.

There are a few stacks getting close and we will get their information when they return.

Event 10: Dinner Break

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

It almost seems unfair when the chipleader pick up premium hands, but it’s the fun part of big stack poker. Both Chris Lewis (Aces) and Andres Jara (Queens) picked up their big hands to drag big pots as the two chase each other up the leaderboard. Dan Suied was the next player to cross the 1,000,000 chip mark as he enjoys his table move to 37.

The remaining 48 players are off on a 40-minute dinner break to refresh and regroup. We will gather more specific chip counts during the extended break in action.

Event 10: Seven Table and Payouts

$300 + $50 No Limit Hold’em Deep Stack

Blinds: 8k/16k/2k ante

“Not the eights!” yelled Table 41.

That table just saw Zach Goodman crack Aces with Eights and now seat-7 was all-in with KdKd versus 8c8h. No miracle river was necessary the Ad8s5s flop all but locked up the hand. The 3h turn and 9s river made no difference and another player was down.

The field is now down just 63 players remaining in the field as staff break the tournament down to the final seven tables.
