Devon Shalmi had just picked up a nice-sized pot from Lexy Gavin but those chips didn’t last long.

Justin Swilling limped in early position, the small blind completed, and Shalmi raised to 24,000 from the big blind. Swilling raised to 70,000 to get a fold from the small blind and Shalmi put in a fourth bet to 162,000.

Swilling called to see the JxJx5x flop and Shalmi put in his last 232,000. Swilling called with AsJs and his flopped trip jacks were good against Shalmi’s big pair KcKh. Shalmi couldn’t catch a miracle and was sent out earlier than he anticipated.

Justin Swilling – 820,000 (137 bb)
Devon Shalmi – Eliminated

Brandon Steven was all-in and in trouble against Paul Volpe. His AdJh needed help against Volpe’s AsQh and got a lot of it on the QcTc9s flop.

The 3d turn was no help but the Kd river filled in his open-ended straight draw for the double. Volpe was knocked under 100,000 and was eliminated a few hands later.

Brandon Steven – 210,000 (35 bb)
Paul Volpe – Elimninated

Devon Shalmi opened to 12,500 from the button and Lexy Gavin three-bet to 35,000 from the small blind. They both checked the AcJh5d flop before Gavin checked again.

Shalmi led out for 33,000 and Gavin stacked up the calling chips after a few moments. A final check from Gavin after the 3h river and Shalmi pushed in a stack of chips worth 115,000. Gavin took her time to think it through before releasing her hand.

Lexy Gavin – 575,000 (96 bb)
Devon Shalmi – 390,000 (65 bb)

Justin Zaki was riding a short stack all day, returning with less than 45,000 and he was under that when he three-bet shoved with KcJd from the button.

The big blind players moved all-in over the top to isolate and Zaki was in trouble against TcTd. The As8c5s flop was no help but Zaki added a gutshot draw on the Qh turn. The 9c river was no help and the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa team member was sent out ten players shy of the money bubble.

Three-time WSOP Circuit champ Nancy Birnbaum is moving in the right direction this afternoon. She’s saddled with Seminole Hard Rock Tampa ambassador Wally Maddah across the table but she took care of another opponent.

She picked up AdAh when the shorter stacked button found pocket eights. All the chips went in and Birbaum sent him out when the board ran 5d3s2h6cQs to get the field one step closer to the money.

Nancy Birnbaum – 168,000 (70 bb)

Lexy Gavin returned for Day 2 with a top five stack but not the easiest table draw in the room. She had to deal with Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Michael Laake on her left and chip leader Joe Serock one seat over.

But she’s not only holding her own, Gavin is prospering over the two hours of the day. She began the day with 264,000 but has run it up over 450,000 before taking the first break of the day.

Lexy Gavin – 457,000 (190 bb)
