Frankie Flowers

With 43 players remaining, and only 41 advancing to Day 2 to reach the money, the field needed to lose one more player to begin hand-for-hand play on the Money Bubble, and two players to end the day.

Level 16 had come to an end, with a 15-minute break scheduled, but there was already a three-way hand in progress that developed into a three-way all-in situation.

After a flop of 6x4x2x with two diamonds, the three players got it all in and turned over their hands:

Frankie Flowers:  Qd10d (flush draw, two overcards)
Eli Levy:  Jh6h (top pair)
Third Player:  8x8x (overpair)

The turn card was a 3x, but the river card was the Jd to complete the flush for Flowers, giving him the chip lead and eliminating both of his opponents.

The remaining 41 players collectively cheered as they had burst the Money Bubble and ended the day without any hand-for-hand play, just moments away from a 15-minute break.

Adam Walter
Event 2 Winner Adam Walter

With the final board showing Kh7s5c7h6h, Adam Walter bet, and Michael Rosenberg tanked for a while before he called off most of his stack from the button.

Here were their cards:

Adam Walter:  QhQd3h2c  (queen-high flush, 7-6 low)
Michael Rosenberg:  8d6d5d4d  (eight-high straight, 8-7 low)

Walter scooped the entire pot with his flush and his 7-6 low to take a 20-to-1 chip lead.

Adam Walter  –  890,000  (30 bb)
Michael Rosenberg  –  45,000  (2 bb)

The next hand, they got it all in preflop, and both had surprisingly good hands:

Adam Walter:  AcKhQsJh
Michael Rosenberg:  10s10c9c8d

Neither player had any shot at a low hand, and the board came Qc6h3s6c2s. Walter paired his queen on the flop to win the pot — and the Lucky Hearts Poker Open trophy — with two pair, queens and sixes.

Michael Dreese
Michael Dreese

With the board showing Kd7s3c2h on the turn, Michael Dreese was all in against Michael Rosenberg, and they turned over their cards:

Michael Rosenberg:  AcKs7h4s  (two pair, 7-4 low draw)
Michael Dreese:  Ah8s6s2d  (pair of deuces, 7-6 low draw)

The river card was the 6h, and Rosenberg scooped the entire pot with a higher two pair (kings and sevens), and an unnecessary 7-6-4-3-2 for the low. Dreese was eliminated in third place.

Michael Dreese  –  Eliminated in 3rd Place  ($1,931)

These were the approximate chip counts at the start of heads-up play:

Adam Walter  –  490,000  (20 bb)

Gabriel Ramos
Gabriel Ramos

In the final moments of Level 20, with the blinds at 5,000-15,000 and a 15,000 big-blind ante, three players put in 30,000 each to see a flop of AcJh6c. Action checked to Gabriel Ramos in the cutoff, and he bet 15,000.

Michael Rosenberg folded the small blind, and Michael Dreese raised to 30,000, and Ramos called all in. They turned over their cards:

Michael Dreese:  AsJc2s2d  (two pair, aces and jacks)
Gabriel Ramos:  Qd5s4d4c  (6-5 low draw)

The turn card paired the board with the Ah, giving Dreese a full house, aces full of jacks, to lock up the high side of the pot. Ramos needed to make his low draw on the river to stay alive.

The river card was the 4s, giving Ramos a meaningless set of of fours as he was eliminated in fourth place.

Dreese won the pot to take the lead with 340,000, but the final three players are all fairly close in chips.

Michael Dreese  –  340,000  (23 bb)
Michael Rosenberg  –  305,000  (20 bb)
Adam Walter  –  290,000  (19 bb)
Gabriel Ramos  –  Eliminated in 4th Place  ($1,931)

Adam Walter:  AhKh9s9d  (two pair, aces and kings)
Wayne Brown: QsQdJd10d  (pair of queens)

Neither player has a qualifying low, and Walter wins the pot with his two pair, aces and kings, to eliminate Brown in fifth place.

Adam Walter  –  175,000  (18 bb)
Wayne Brown  –  Eliminated in 5th Place  ($1,463)

Hyndi Khomutestsky

After a flop of Jd7h6s, Adam Walter bet 8,000 from the small blind. Hyndi Khomutetsky called from the big blind, Wayne Brown folded, and Michael Dreese called from the cutoff.

The turn card was the 10c, Walter bet 16,000, and Khomutetsky thought for a while before calling all in for her last 7,000. Dreese called.

The river card was the 3d, and Dreese and Walter both checked. Everyone turned over their cards:

Michael Dreese:  As4sJhJc  (set of jacks, 7-6-4 low)
Adam Walter:  9c7c7d4d  (set of sevens)
Hyndi Khomutetsky:  10h8d5s2h  (pair of tens, 7-6-5 low)

Dreese scooped the entire pot with his set of jacks and his 7-6-4 low to eliminate Khomutetsky in sixth place.

Perry Klein

Perry Klein was short-stacked and all in preflop against Michael Dreese and Gabriel Ramos.

The flop came Qd9h5d, and Dreese and Ramos put in 12,000 each (with a bet and a raise).

The turn card was the 3c, Dreese checked, Ramos bet 12,000, and Dreese called.

The river card was the 6d, Dreese checked, Ramos bet 12,000, and Dreese check-raised to 24,000. Ramos called, and all three players showed their cards:

Michael Dreese:  Kd6h4d3d  (king-high flush)
Gabriel Ramos:  Ah8d2d2h  (eight-high flush, 6-5 low)
Perry Klein:  AcJh8c4s  (ace high)

Dreese won the high side with his king-high flush, and Ramos took the low side with his 6-5 low. Klein was eliminated in eighth place.

Harry Eisenberg
Harry Eisenberg

With the blinds at 3,000-6,000, Perry Klein moved all in from middle position for 8,000. Adam Walter called from the hijack, and Hyndi Khomutetsky raised from the cutoff to 12,000 (because the all-in was less than half of a full raise). Harry Eisenberg called from the big blind, leaving himself just 4K behind, and Walter called.

Four players in the pot, with one all in.

The flop came Ac9h6h, and Eisenberg moved all in for 4,000. Walter and Khomutetsky both called.

Still four players in the pot, now with two all in.

The turn card was the 7c, Walter bet 12,000, and Khomutetsky called.

The river card was the As, Walter bet 12,000, and Khomutetsky called. Here were their hole cards in descending order of chip counts:

Adam Walter:  8s6c5c3s  (nine-high straight, 7-6 low)
Hyndi Khomutetsky:  AdKcQd3d  (trip aces)
Harry Eisenberg:  mucked
Perry Klein:  Ah10c7h2c  (full house)

Klein won the high side of the main pot with his full house, and Walter won the low side of the main pot with his 7-6 low. Then Walter scooped the rest of the pot with his straight, eliminating Eisenberg in ninth place.

Adam Walter  –  160,000  (27 bb)
Perry Klein  –  18,000  (3 bb)
Harry Eisenberg  –  Eliminated in 9th Place  ($819)
