$10M GTD, Hands #23-27: Final Nine Players

Hand #23  –  Samuel Bernabeu Guilabert min-raises from middle position to 200,000, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #24  –  Justin Bonomo min-raises from the button to 200,000, and Greg Lehn calls from the big blind. Both players check to the river on a board of Qh 8c 6s Jh Qs, Lehn checks, Bonomo bets 100,000, and Lehn folds. Bonomo takes the pot.

Hand #25  –  Samuel Bernabeu Guilabert min-raises UTG+1 to 200,000, Justin Bonomo calls from the cutoff, and Ray Qartomy calls from the big blind. The flop comes 9c 7c 3c, Qartomy checks, and Guilabert bets 325,000. Bonomo folds, and Qartomy calls.

Both players check the 6d on the turn and the 4h on the river, and Qartomy shows Qh 9s to win the pot with a pair of nines.

Hand #26  –  Panagiotis Nifakos raises from middle position to 225,000, and Mukul Pahuja calls from the big blind. Both players check to the turn on a board of Ks 10d 3d 10s, Pahuja bets 285,000, and Nifakos folds. Pahuja takes the pot.

Hand #27  –  Justin Bonomo min-raises from middle position to 200,000, Blair Hinkle reraises from the hijack to 450,000, and Bonomo calls. Both players check to the turn on a board of Kh Jh 3c, Bonomo checks, Hinkle bets 525,000, and Bonomo calls.

Both players check the 9c on the turn and the Jc on the river. Bonomo shows Qc Jd to win the pot with trip jacks, and Hinkle mucks.

The level comes to an end, and the players take a 15-minute break.

Hand #22  –  Blair Hinkle raises under the gun to 210,000, Panagiotis Nifakos moves all in for 1,225,000, and Hinkle calls with Kh Qs. Nifakos turns over 9d 9s, and he’ll need it to hold to stay alive.

The board comes 10s 8c 5c 4c 3h, and the pocket nines hold up for Nifakos to win the pot and double up in chips.

Hand #20  –  Blair Hinkle raises from middle position to 225,000, and Ray Qartomy calls from the hijack. The flop comes Qs 6s 4d, Hinkle bets 300,000, and Qartomy folds. Hinkle takes the pot.

Hand #21  –  Justin Bonomo min-raises under the gun to 200,000, Griffin Arnold calls from the button, and Panagiotis Nifakos calls from the big blind. The flop comes 8h 3h 3d, Nifakos checks, Bonomo bets 350,000, and Arnold min-raises to 700,000.

Bonomo moves all in, and Nifakos and Arnold both fold. Justin Bonomo takes the pot.

The river is the 5c, Nifakos bets 500,000, Hinkle raises to 1,300,000, and Nifakos folds. Hinkle takes the pot.

Hand #10  –  Ray Qartomy min-raises from the cutoff to 200,000, Samuel Bernabeu Guilabert moves all in from the small blind for 1,595,000, and Qartomy calls with Kh Jc. Guilabert turns over As Jd, and he’s a dominant favorite to double up here.

The board comes 8d 7d 4h Ad 2s, and Guilabert wins the pot with a pair of aces to double up in chips.

Hand #8  –  Larry Klur (pictured) raises from middle position to 225,000, Blair Hinkle raises to 550,000 from the cutoff, and Klur calls. Both players check to the turn on a board of Ad 8s 4h 2s, Klur bets 375,000, and Hinkle calls.

The river card is the Kh, Klur checks, and Hinkle bets 1,200,000. Klur stands up and says, “Okay, I’ll take $116,000. I’m all in.”

Hinkle snap-calls with Kc Ks for a rivered set of kings, and Klur lets out a short wail, shows Ac Jc, and says to Hinkle, “That’s the second time you rivered me. Good luck, you’re going to take it down.”

The remaining nine players are guaranteed at least $174,525.

Hand #7  –  Larry Klur raises from middle position to 250,000, and Ray Qartomy calls from the big blind. The flop comes Qs 10h 3h, Qartomy checks, and Klur moves all in for 2,975,000. Qartomy tanks, and Klur says, “I’ll explain it after the hand. Whether you do call or don’t call. It will be self-explanatory.”

Qartomy tanks for another minute and says, “It doesn’t make sense.” Qartomy folds, and Klur takes the pot.

Klur says, “Because I hit top pair, there was a flush draw out there, and I didn’t want you sucking out on me.”


Hand #6  –  Samuel Guilabert moves all in from middle position, winning the blinds and antes.

Hand #5  –  Mukul Pahuja raises from middle position to 210,000, and Blair Hinkle calls from the big blind. The flop comes 9h 9d 2d, Hinkle checks, Pahuja bets 225,000, and Hinkle check-raises to about 475,000. Pahuja folds, and Hinkle takes the pot.

Hand #4  –  Larry Klur raises from the button to 225,000, and Justin Bonomo calls from the big blind. The flop comes As Qd 8s, Bonomo checks, Klur bets 225,000, and Bonomo folds. Klur takes the pot.

Kottler turns over A-K, and he’s in a race situation against Hinkle’s Qc Qh.

The board comes 7h 6d 2d 3c 5h, and the pocket queens hold up for Hinkle to win the pot, eliminating Kottler in 11th place.
