Howard Feingold got it all in preflop from the small blind with JxJx, and he needed to improve to stay alive against the QhQc of Natasha Mercier, who was under the gun.

The flop came Qd10s9d, and Feingold flopped an open-ended straight draw to Mercier’s set of queens.

The turn card was the Jc, giving Feingold a set, but all of his straight outs turned into chop outs, leaving him one out for a full double-up.

The river card was the Ac, and Mercier won the pot with her set of queens to eliminate Feingold from Day 1A.

As he was got up to leave, Feingold said to the table, “If you think that’s bad, you should have seen what she did to me the other day!”

For context, Mercier and Feingold were the last two players in round one of Event #20, the $1,100 Deep Stack NLH Shootout. All of the other tables had finished, and they were battling for the final spot at the shootout final table.

Their final hand was a race between Mercier’s 8d8c and Feingold’s Ah10d, and Mercier flopped a set of eights and turned quads to win the pot, knock out Feingold, and make the money as she advanced to the final table.

So this is the second time Mercier has knocked out Feingold in the past four days, though this time Feingold can still re-enter tomorrow on Day 1B.

Natasha Mercier  –  130,000  (87 bb)
Howard Feingold  –  Eliminated

Action will continue tonight until the end of Level 10 (around 11:15 pm), and Day 1B begins tomorrow at 11:00 am.
