Four players put in 1,000 each to see a flop of AhQc3s. The big blind checked, and Shawn Cunix bet 2,700 from UTG+1. Matthew Wantman called from the hijack, and the button and the big blind both folded.

The turn card was the 5s, Cunix checked, Wantman bet 4,000, and Cunix moved all in. Wantman called all in for about 13,000 with Ad10s for a pair of aces, but Cunix turned over 4c2h for a five-high straight. Wantman was drawing dead.

The meaningless river card was the 6h, and Cunix won the pot with a six-high straight to eliminate Wantman.

Shawn Cunix  –  200,000  (400 bb)
Matthew Wantman  –  Eliminated

With Wantman’s elimination, the mood at the table was a bit more somber than it was earlier, but Cunix wanted to note that he was listening to the song “Neon Moon” by Brooks & Dunn on his headphones during that hand, and that he listens to pretty much all genres of music.

Registration remains open until the start of Level 9 (around 9:15 pm). Players are allowed one entry and one re-entry per starting day (maximum of four entries).

There will be a 90-minute dinner break at the end of this level, around 5:30 pm, and action is scheduled to continue tonight until the end of Level 11, around 12:30 am.
