Championship Day 3: Barrett Doubles Up

$3,500 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Championship
Level 26: 20,000/40,000/5,000 Ante

Travis Northrope limped in for 40,000 and Raj Vohra raised it to 120,000 and Gilbert Barrett called from the small blind. Northrope said “so enticing” before letting his hand go.

The flop came Kd9h7c and Barrett moved all in for his last 340,000. Vohra looked back at his cards, played with his chips, and asked the dealer for a confirmation of how much the bet was. “340,000,” said the dealer and Vohra glared at Barrett before leaning back in his chair. Scratching his chin, Vohra grabbed the chips to make the call and put them into the middle. Vohra had Ad9c for a pair of nines but he was behind Barrett who had Ks8s.

The turn was the 8h giving Barrett two pair but he could still be eliminated with a river ace or nine. The river hit one of the two, but it was Barrett who was the beneficiary as it was the Kc to give him a full house. He doubled up to approximately a million in chips while Vohra was left with less than 300,000.
