A Look at Last Week’s $1M Escalator Series Event

$1M Escalator Series

The first of four $1M Escalator Series tournaments began last Wednesday, February 3. The $150 buy-in event saw a super-sized, 1,250-entry field smash the $100,000 guarantee before topping the prize pool out at $150,000.

Day 2 play was headlined by chip leader Brian Nerney and reigning Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year Ory Hen who sat toward the bottom of the top 10. It took about 11 hours for the 129-player restart to narrow to the final two. It was then that Eric Rivkin and Reynel Hernandez agreed to chop it up. The deal saw Rivkin earn the tournament’s top spot along with a $33,970 prize. Hernandez, meanwhile, scored $25,390.
