It is January in Florida. That means we get our fair share of players coming down to the Sunshine State to escape the cold elsewhere in the country. Warm weather and poker make the trip worthwhile.

We found a couple New Jersey players in today’s field sitting next to each other. They also happen to be married.

Ruth and Rick Ruffman came down for the WPTDeepStacks Main Event, drew adjoining seats at Table 21, and hope to do the same at the final table.

They both have poker tournament success with Ruth ahead for titles including a WSOP Circuit ring from last March.
