Ory Hen Wins $570 No Limit Hold’em Re-Entry For Second Time in Three Years

Event 6 Champion Ory Hen

There are few people that love the Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open more than Ory Hen. For the second time in three years, Hen won the $570 no limit hold’em re-entry event.

Just before the clock struck midnight on Wednesday night and the calendar flipped to Thanksgiving, Hen bested a 633-entry field to win $44,255 in a six-way chop.

The win is just another in a long string of wins at the Hard Rock for Hen, but it snaps a recent cold streak for the 53-year-old Florida resident.

“It feels great,” said Hen. “I was running bad for a while. Now, I’m getting back on the horse. Hopefully I can run this well during the main event.”

It would seem like there is something about this structure that favors Hen’s skills set. With his $52,153 win two years ago, he’s nearing six-figures in cashes in this event alone.

Hen downplays any advantage he may have and gives most of the credit to Lady Luck for the win.

“I don’t know. The cards went my way this time,” said Hen. “I played beautiful and I didn’t make any mistakes. It worked out.”

Hen opened up a huge chip lead while there were two tables remaining and never really looked back. He kept the chip lead all the way to the bitter end.

While he was dominating the field, Brett Bader remarked that it was going to be impossible beat Hen in “his house.” Hen echos the sentiment and feels right at home in the tournament area of the Hollywood Hard Rock.

“I’ll tell you the truth, yeah,” said Ory when asked if he has home court advantage at the Hard Rock. “I like everybody here. They like me and I’ve been here for years. I love it here. It’s a beautiful place.”

Hen wasn’t the only player with a repeat finish at the final table. Just like in 2015, Chris Nomikos finished runner-up. Nomikos earned $42,144 two years ago and $33,557 this year.
