Jaffe bet 127,000 and Mizrachi quickly called. The river was the Kh and both players checked. Mizrachi showed 6h5h, giving him two pair, and Jaffe mucked his hand.

It’s 3 p.m. in South Florida and the beginning of the first-ever Monster WPT Tournament of Champions final table is just about 60 minutes away. Players are filing in, the cameras are rolling and staff is putting the finishing touches on the set prior to cards in the air.

WPT TOC: Jonathan Jaffe Leads Final Six; Play Resumes Sunday at 4pm

Day 2 of the first-ever World Poker Tour Tournament of Champions concluded late Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The elite event began two days ago with 64 entries and is now down to the final six. Leading the way heading into the final playing session is Jonathan Jaffe.

Jaffe leads, but it’s Michael Mizrachi that headlines it. The South Florida native is one of the most accomplished players in the game. With multiple WSOP bracelets, a WPT title and over $14 million in tournament earnings, he’s coming into the day second in chips.

Each of the remaining six returns tomorrow having locked up $58,300 in prize money. The $1,060,000 prize pool sees its champion earn $381,600 which is inclusive of a $15,000 seat in the 2017 WPT TOC.

Sunday’s final table, taking place in Hard Rock Live, is set to be filmed for a later broadcast as well as livestreamed on WPT.com. Here’s a full look at the players that will be a part of it and what they are competing for:

Noah Schwartz raised to 30,000 from the cutoff and Andy Frankenberger moved all in from the big blind for about 100,000. Schwartz called and the cards were tabled.

Frankenberger needed help with his Ac6d up against Schwartz’s 8d8s.

The board ran out 9h5d4d5sQs and Schwartz’s pair held up to eliminate Frankenberger in the process. Schwartz dragged the pot and Frankenberger was eliminated in seventh place. He collected $47,700 for his efforts and the remaining six players will come back tomorrow to play the televised final table.

Yevgeniy Timoshenko open shoved from late position and Michael Mizrachi re-shoved for more from his direct left in the cutoff. It folded to Jonathan Jaffe in the big blind and he peeled his hole cards off the felt before open-folding Ax4x. Timoshenko was at risk and behind against Mizrachi.

The dealer burned and turned a QhTc6d2sJd board giving Mizrachi a straight. Timoshenko’s pair of jacks was no good and he was the first in-the-money elimination good for a score of $38,160.
