Event 14: Great Scott!

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2,000/4,000/500 Ante

Scott Hart took a wild 88 MPH ride over the past 15 minutes and nearly pulled off a true Cinderalla story.

Hart was crippled by Hamilton Hunt when in a three-way hand he and other opponent both held AK but Hunt holding JdQs hit a queen on the river tripling up and leaving Scott with not even enough to cover the next big blind.

But Hart managed to double twice cracking jacks and then with an 8h9d caught running straight cards to keep him alive.

Unfortunately, Hart was in the big blind again and his 5s5h couldn’t catch up to Hunt’s 8d8h and he was eliminated in 17th place causing the re-draw.

Event 14: Two Fall Back To Back

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2,000/4,000/500 Ante

After some slow going, the 2000/4000 level was too much to overcome as two of the top players in the field have fallen.

Aaron Massey ran Ac8c into jacks and Carter Gill fell at nearly the same time to take the field down to 17 players not to mention ending the night for two of the biggest threats in the field. Both cash for $1,065.

We’re now one player away from a re-draw at 16 players.

Event 14: Short Stack Ninjas

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 17: 2,000/4,000/500 Ante

Part of the reason we haven’t seen many players fall is the shorter stacks are very experienced players.  Carter Gill, Aaron Massey and Yigal Hen know the proper way to handle these situations and won’t go down easily with their stacks all in the 40-60k range.

They will be challenged now to stay alive as we just hit Level 16 with 2000/4000 blinds and the 500 chip ante.

Event 14: Miles Counted Out, Nineteen Left

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 16: 1,500/3,000/500 Ante

No one wants to go home yet.  Eliminations are at a premium right now with only Timothy Miles falling in 20th place cashing for $1,065 since we came back.  Aaron Massey just survived an all-in where he had Hamilton Hunt dominated Ah5d vs As2c but the board ran out all high cards to nullify their kickers chopping the pot.

This highly competitive field is playing it close to the vest as move through Level 16.

Event 14: Calderon Breaks The Bubble

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 15: 1,200/2,400/400 Ante

Jennifer David hit the flop but so did Joe Calderon.  And it ended up putting the players in the money here in Event 14.

On a flop of 7dTsQd, Calderon fired out 12,200 and got a call from David who bet nearly half her stack to make the call.  The turn of 2c changed nothing and predictably the rest of her chips ended up in the middle.  David held AdTh for second pair but Calderon had AcQc putting him ahead.  The 8d ended the hand and the quest for the other twenty players to lock up a trip to the payout window.

We should be headed toward a stellar final table with many recognizable pros and top area players still standing here in Event 14.

Event 14: Gill Gets It Done, Fish and Dolan Battle

$570 Eight Handed No Limit Hold’em (Single Re-Entry)
Level 14: 1,000/2,000/300 Ante

As we near the money, the cream is rising to the top.

Carter Gill had an opponent in with pocket eights against A-K and depsite not getting the 8s he called for, Gill won the hand and sent the field down to 22 players.  At the same table, John Dolan and Darryll Fish got into a battle both holding A-K and ended up chopping the hand.  When asked why he put his chips on by a player at the table Fish proudly declared “I’m not scared.  Not playing to min-cash.”

We close in the money here in Event 14 with that top prize of $17,749 starting to reach the player’s sights.
