Event 3: Old Poker Club

$200 + $40 Omaha Eight or Better

Blinds: 200/400 – Limits: 400/800

While most of the tables spend a good amount of their table bickering of who gets what part of the pot, Table 41 has turned into the Old Poker Club. A pleasant distraction while the chips are being passed around as a group of old friends have been put at the same table.

“Remember when…” is the opening line to several funny stories while they needle each other about lost hair and gained waste lines. The two young guys at the table are trying to keep up with them but they are rookies in the talking game. The chatter around the room as just as entertaining as the play.

Four tables remain as the break and casually move the entire field to the far corner of the room with the aim to play down to a winner this evening.

Event 3: Down to Five

$200 + $40 Omaha Eight or Better

Blinds: 150/300 – Limits: 300/600

The field is down to five tables with the last elimination on Table 39 to get us to 45 remaining. The kindly, quiet gentleman was all-in preflop and heads up for a nice change of pace. He was holding As Kc 3c 2h versus Jd Jh 5s 5c and looking for tournament salvation.

The flop came Ac Td 3d to give him him Aces up but the Jc gave his opponent with a set. A flush would save is day but the Tc river was the wrong club and he took the trip downstairs. Staff broke a table and now the final five tables are back to 9-handed play.
