Registration closed on the $250 Holiday Deep Stack with a great turnout of 310 entries. They more than doubled the $30,000 guaranteed and created a prize pool worth $65,100. The last 39 spots will be paid with $425 for a min-cash and $13,890 for the Event 8 champ.

Joseph Barthohdi began the final table with the chip lead and he’s been the most active by far. Early in the day, he opened to 100,000 from under the gun and picked up calls from H Michael Borovetz, Adam Wells, and Mike Chiappetta. The flop came , Chiappetta checked from the big blind, Bartholdi bet 150,000 and only Borovetz came along.
Both checked the turn, the river was and Bartholdi bet 325,000. Borovetz thought for a moment, called the bet, then mucked when Bartholdi showed for top two.
Later, he opened to 100,000 from middle position and Casey Crews called in the big blind to see the flop. Crews checked, Bartholdi bet 80,000 and Crews check/raised to 180,000. Bartholdi three-bet to 475,000 and Crews let his hand go.
All told, Bartholdi added more than 1,000,000 to his stack in the first 30 minutes of the final table.

The last day of the May Deep Stack Poker Series is here and we have two nice tournaments to close it out starting with the Holiday Deep Stack at 10 am. The $250 buy-in tournament has a $30,000 guaranteed prize pool and we expect a huge crowd.
