What began with 115 players at noon today was down to just one after nearly 11 hours of action on the felt. Robert Transue was the last man standing in Event 9: $250 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em, good for $7,244.
Originally born in England but living in North Lauderdale for 50 years, Transue has a few tournament wins in his eight years of playing tournament poker. This, however, marks his first at the Seminole Hard Rock. “I don’t play at the Hard Rock a lot, but I like to play the events when they have the series in the ballroom.” The 67-year-old Commercial Real Estate Appraiser enjoys playing poker as a hobby, and doesn’t have any plans of abandoning his day job. “I still work. I’ll work til the day I die…unless I win a dozen more of these things.”
