On a flop of Js8d6c, Eric Mutschler moves all in from the small blind for about 100,000 and Spencer Champlin calls out of the big blind.

Mutschler shows AdAh and is in the lead against Champlin’s 6s2c. The turn is the 4s, keeping Mutschler’s rockets in the lead, but the 2h peeled off on the river and Champlin makes two pair to crack Mutschler’s aces.

Mutschler is eliminated in 42nd place and will take home $735 for his deep run. Champlin wins the pot and is still near the top of the chip counts.

Matt Humphrey opened the button to 500,000, and Patrick Mahoney three-bet to 2,000,000 in the big blind. Humphrey four-bet shoved for 8,725,000 total, and Mahoney instantly called to put him at risk, flipping for the title.

The Qs9h6d flop was a miss for Humphrey, as was the 3s turn. He needed to find an ace or a king on the river to stay alive, but the Tc failed to save his tournament life. Mahoney won the pot and the Championship with a pair of jacks, earning the trophy and the top prize of more than $560,000.

Humphrey was forced to settle for a runner-up finish, collecting $328,320.

Mahoney overbet the pot for 2,000,000, and Humphrey check-raised all in for about 7,000,000 total. Mahoney instantly folded, and Humphrey won the pot with no showdown.

Mahoney’s hand improved on every street, and the river call gave him the pot and the knockout. De Silva, the long-standing chip leader of this event, was eliminated in third place.

On the turn with a board of Ac9d7hTc and about 70,000 in the pot, the big blind checks and Norman Zapcyznski bets 25,000. The big blind check-raises to about 82,000 and the Zapcynski moves all in for 220,000.

The big blind quickly calls and tables Js8c, good for the nut straight. Zapczynski slouches in his chair and eventually shows AdTs, good for top two pair.

“It’s not over yet,” said another player at the table.

The river is the Td and the big blind shoots up out of his chair and walks away for a few moments after Zapczynski rivered a full house to double up.

The flop was As8h7h. Humphrey continued for 1,200,000, and De Silva called. The turn was the Qs, and Humphrey moved all in for close to 4,000,000. De Silva quickly folded, and Humphrey showed the 7c as the dealer pushed him the big pot that moved him into the chip lead.

Champlin’s opponent doesn’t take too much thought before he tosses his hand into the muck. Champlin drags the pot and shows the 9c.

With 57 players remaining, Champlin has the chip lead.

De Silva won the pot. They’re playing “show one card” for the winner of each hand, and “Pesh” flashed the Qd as he dragged the chips.

These two players have traded the chip lead back and forth a couple times in recent small pots, but this one gives De Silva a bit of a cushion once again.
