Event 8: Three Eliminated on the Bubble

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 18: 4,000/8,000 with a 8,000 ante
Players Remaining: 70 of 795

David Rivera (left) and Cory Blum (right) helped put Event 8 in the money

With 73 players remaining and 72 getting paid, the tournament went into hand-for-hand mode until they lost one player. The first hand was inconsequential but the second blasted off.

On Table 19, Cory Blum opened to 17,000 and Scott Jordan three-bet shoved from the cutoff for 77,000. The rest of the table folded and Blum called. While they were waiting for the other tables to finish, two other all-ins were called for the triple at risk.

Blum: 9d9h
Jordan: KdQc

They were racing and Jordan was unable to connect on the Ac5s2cAs5c board to exit on the bubble.

But there was still some business to decide.

On Table 12, David Rivera and Philip Consolo were heads-up to the Qc7c2s flop when Consolo put his last 16,000 in the middle. He was ahead of Rivera with Qd7s against pocket kings, improved to a boat on the 7d turn but the two-out Kh hit the river for the tough bubble beat.

On Table 7, we did not see the action or board but Ronald Campillo joined Consolo and Jordan at the payout desk where the three players split 71st and 72nd money.

Philip Consolo – Eliminated in 71st ($769)
Scott Jordan – Eliminated in 72nd ($769)
Ronald Campillo – Eliminated in 73rd ($768)

Event 8: Jessica Dawley Doubles Through Cory Blum

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 17: 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 74 of 795

Jessica Dawley

The pace of eliminations slowed with the money bubble in the near future and Jessica Dawley took a chance to double up short stack.

She moved all in for 49,000 after Cory Blum opened to 14,000. It folded back around to him and he called to put her at risk.

Dawley: AhKd
Blum: KhQh

Dawley was way ahead and the Kc7s2d flop was safe enough.

“Hold,” Dawley implored.

Her plea was ignored as the dealer put the Qs on the turn to push Blum into the lead. Dawley was halfway out of her seat but sat back down when the As river completed the suck\resuck portion of the hand.

Level 17 came to an end after the hand and the 74 remaining players went on break while the 500 denom chips were colored up.

Jessica Dawley – 113,000 (19 bb)
Cory Blum – 226,000 (38 bb)

Event 8: Chris Moorman Moving Up Near the Bubble

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 17: 3,000/6,000 with a 6,000 ante
Players Remaining: 78 of 795

Chris Moorman

Event 8 is creeping up on the money bubble before the first break and Chris Moorman is making his move. The WSOP and WPT winner began the day with 93,000 but moved his stack up to 347,000 in the first two levels.

Moorman is always a threat at any point in a tournament but very dangerous with a lot of chips.

Event 8: Adam Levy Runs Into Aces

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 16: 2,500/5,000 with a 5,000 ante
Players Remaining: 84 of 795

Adam Levy

We caught up with the action on Table 5 with the board complete and reading KdKs9c7sKh. Adam Levy was facing a bet that was bigger than his 39,000 stack and he did not seem pleased. He checked his cards, tossed in a few calling chips, and was definitely not pleased when his opponent turned over AsAd.

Levy showed his all-in hand, Qh9d, and his full house was no good.

His elimination dropped the field to 84 players as the money bubble nears with 72 getting paid.

Event 8: Michael Tureniec Catches a Turn

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 15: 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 108 of 795

Michael Tureniec

With the board reading Qd8s5d, Michael Tureniec put out a stack of 5K chips from the big blind worth 115,000, enough to cover his opponent. He thought for a minute and tossed in his last 65,000 with the better hand. At the moment.

Tureniec: Qh6h
Opponent: KdQc

It looked like Tureniec, our WPTDeepStacks Immokalee (hosted here), would ship some chips across the table but the dealer put the 6d out there on the turn. Tureniec improved to queens up and it held after the 7s river to send his opponent out.

Michael Tureniec – 226,500 (57 bb)

Event 8: Travis Jackson Eliminated by Donys Agnelli

$570 Deep Stack NLH (Re-Entry)
$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 15: 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 ante
Players Remaining: 114 of 795

Travis Jackson (center) shoves on Donys Agnelli (right)

Donys Agnelli opened to 11,500 from under the gun and it folded around to Travis Jackson in the big blind. He moved all in for 59,500 and Agnelli took a few minutes to make a decision. Agnelli eventually called and Jackson, our Event 7 $1,100 runner-up, was dominated with Ah3h against AsJd.

The board ran KhQs6cQhTs to give Agnelli the overkill Broadway straight to send Jackson out early on Day 2.

Event 8: Day 2 Set to Go

$250,000 Guaranteed | Payouts
Level 15: 2,000/4,000 with a 4,000 BB ante
Players Remaining: 122 of 795
