Fabrizio Gonzales and Chris Hunichen battled in the blinds. Gonzales raised from the small blind and Hunichen moved all-in from the big blind with 7d7h.

It was an easy call for Gonzales when he woke up with AsAc. Hunichen needed a lot of help, found nothing on the 9s8c2h flop, picked up a gutshot on the 5d turn, but blanked the 4d river to go out in 6th place for $47,300.

Hand #52  –  Omar Zazay raises UTG+1 to 175,000 with QsQc, Vlad Mezheritsky reraises from the hijack to 425,000 with KsKc, and Zazay tanks for a long time before he reraises to 900,000

Mezheritsky thinks for about 30 seconds before he moves all in with his pocket kings for 4,180,000, and Zazay thinks for a while before he calls all in for 3,410,000 with his pocket queens.

The board comes Qh5s4sJdJh, and Zazay flops a set of queens and rivers a full house to win the pot and double up in chips — knocking Mezheritsky down below 10 big blinds in the process.

Hand #50  –  Vlad Mezheritsky raises from the button to 185,000 with As2h, and Brian Phillis calls from the small blind with QcJh.

Both players check to the turn on a board of Ah6d4d7h, Phillis bets 275,000, and Mezheritsky calls.

The river card is the 9s, and both players check. Phillis shows QcJh for queen high, and Mezheritsky turns over his As2h to win the pot with a pair of aces.

Hand #51  –  Dan Colman min-raises UTG+1 to 160,000 with As2c, Brian Phillis calls from the button with Jc9c, and Larry Moccia reraises from the big blind to 560,000 with 7s7c.

Colman and Phillis both fold, and Moccia takes the pot.

Event 22: Jon Borenstein – 7th Place ($35,500)

Jon Borenstein opened for a min-raise from the button and Xuan Lui came along in the big blind to see the Jh7c6c flop. Liu check called 135,000 before the Qd turn.

Liu checked again and Borenstein bet 260,000. Liu check raised him all-in and he called with 7d7h. His set was a big favorite against Liu’s two pair Qh6s and needed to dodge two river outs.

Borenstein’s tournament ended with some bad luck when the Qs river hit to send him out in 7th place for $35,000.

David Eldridge opened to 200,000 and Anthony Nardi three-bet his entire stack for 1,125,000. Action folded around and Eldridge called with Ah9h ahead of KcJc.

Eldridge hit the Qd9c7s flop but Nardi added a gutshot to his live cards. The Ac turn was no help and Nardi was out in 5th place on the 8s river.
