Almog-Biton-Winner-1

Almog Biton won Event 3 of the Seminole Hard Rock Deep Stack Series Thursday night in Hollywood, Fla. Biton defeated Chad Eveslage outright in the $560 Deeper Stack tournament to earn $57,746 along with a $1,650 seat. Eveslage, meanwhile, was sent home with a $33,335 consolation prize.

Including the two starting flights, the tournament played out over four consecutive days. The 452-entry field generated a $226,000 prize pool that handily surpassed the $150,000 guarantee. Biton’s star shined brightest among an in-the-money field that included Andrew Gordon (3rd), Yoram Lehavot (5th), Abbey Daniels (15th), Ory Hen (18th) and Loni Harwood (43rd).

For the aforementioned Gordon and Lehavot, the deep run marked quite a feat. Gordon late registered the event at the start of Day 2. With a 40,000-chip starting stack and blinds of 2,500/5,000, he took his seat to eight big blinds. Just over 24 hours later, he was at the payout desk cashing out a 3rd-place ticket and $20,340 score. For Lehavot, the final table appearance marked his second in as many Deep Stack Series events. He maneuvered through a field of 1,075 in the series opener before busting 7th for $11,800.

In the end, the headline belonged to 36-year-old Biton. Born in Israel and having spent the last 10 years in New York, Biton is a recent transplant to Hollywood. The victory marks his first major win and moves him over $260,000 in reported earnings.

Almog Biton is pulling away from Chad Eveslage in the heads-up portion of the $560 Deeper Stack event. Most recently, Eveslage opened the button for 200,000 and Biton calmly three-bet to 500,000 from the big blind. Eveslage called and the pair saw a flop.

Biton checked. Eveslage bet 500,000. Biton re-checked his cards and calmly moved all-in. Eveslage quickly folded and Biton took the pot. Biton now holds about 15,000,000 chips to Eveslage’s 3,000,000.

A shortstacked James Salmon hit the rail 4th shortly after break. Next to go was Andrew Gordon. Gordon, who busted 3rd, doubled Chad Eveslage before ultimately meeting his demise against chip leader Almog Biton.

For Gordon, the run was bitter sweet. He late registered this event yesterday morning and took his seat to an eight-big-blind stack. Now, just over 24 hours later, he’s leaving with a $20,000 score, but still a couple spots shy of the tournament’s trophy.

Andrew Gordon, who late registered yesterday with 10 big blinds, got all in holding 9h7h against the Ah8h of James Salmon. The board laid 4c3h2h and Gordon was in trouble. Both players claimed a flush draw, but Salmon’s was ace-high and it was accompanied by outs to a straight.

The turn brought the 7s, improving Gordon to a pair of sevens and giving him the lead in the hand. Salmon still had numerous outs, but the river 4s wasn’t one of them. Gordon’s pair held and he doubled through the previous chip leader.

Action is off and running following the first break of the day in the $560 Deeper Stack event. Chasing Daniel Notice to the rail in Level 27 was Yoram Lehavot. Lehavot, who finished 7th in the $350 Deep Stack Series opener just a few days ago, busted at the hands of Chad Eveslage. He got all-in preflop holding Qh9s and was behind the Ac8c of Eveslage. A KcQs3c9c2d runout gave both players a sweat, but ultimately didn’t change anything in the hand leaderboard. Lehavot earned $12,882 for his 5th-place finish.

James Salmon retains his lead four handed, but the stacks are leveling out. The tournament’s short stack, Andrew Gordon, bought into the event yesterday morning before cards went in the air for Day 2. He took his seat to eight big blinds and now finds himself within reach of the $57,746 top prize.

Daniel Notice, who began the day as the short stack, hasn’t been hesitant to put his chips at risk. He’s been all-in preflop a handful of times, but the most recent proved to be his last.

He held JcJd in middle position and was well behind the KsKd of Almog Biton on the button. The runout fell Ac9d3h4s5h and Notice busted 6th earning $10,735.

Lehavot Takes Notice During Level 26; Level 27 Underway

$560 Deeper Stack No Limit Hold’em
Level 27: 30,000/60,000/10,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 6/452

Daniel Notice came out of Level 26 a lot healthier than he started it. Just moments ago, he jammed from late position for 435,000 and Yoram Lehavot called from the small blind. A bit excited to get to showdown, Lehavot flipped over JsJd before James Salmon had acted in the big blind. After some deliberation, Salmon folded and Notice was at risk against a lone opponent.

Lehavot: JsJd
Notice: KhJh

The flop smacked Notice, falling Kc8h2h giving him top pair and a flush draw. The turn and river completed the board with the 7c and 8s and Notice doubled through Lehavot. Salmon revealed he folded AxQx.

Due to exposing his hand with action pending, Lehavot was given a penalty and is a railbird for the time being.

Daniel Notice – 1,075,000
Yoram Lehavot – 950,000

Level 27 is now underway with blinds of 30,000/60,000 and a 10,000 ante. The average stack sits at just over 50 big blinds.
