$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) Level 17: 2,500/5,000 with a 500 ante Players Remaining: 153 of 1,973
One good indicator of a big hand is seeing someone storm away from the tournament area only to be called back. Jimmy Cortes produced one of those and we caught the tail end as the stacks were getting cut down for counting.
Sitting in front of Cortes was on the button and the small blind’s empty seat showed . The board is what made his opponent head for the door in a hurry but he was called back in case he had chips remaining.
After counting 120,000 he was able to leave in earnest while Cortes began stacking more chips.

There’s no slowing them down on Table 29. While the rest of the field is dropping down slower than expected, chips are flying at this one table.
Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah found another spot to get his chips in the middle, once again with the best hand. He was all-in from big blind against Nick Yunis on the button.
Maddah: Yunis:
The flop gave Maddah another flush sweat but the turn and river were good enough to send him another double into the (more) comfortable zone.
On the next hand, the 1-seat moved all-in for 15,500 and Clifford Conners took his time to think about it in the big blind.
“I think I’m really live here,” Conners told the table.
He called the bet but he was not live.
Conners: Opponent:
Conners was in danger of dropping down to ten big blinds, missed the flop and turn before binking the river to send the field down one more player.

When asked to describe his Day 2 bag, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah simply said “I have seven chips.”
He put those to use early with a shove for 24,000 from under the gun and Lou Stadler called.
Maddah: Stadler:
Maddah was in good shape and the flop changed little. The turn made him sit up in his seat when Stadler picked up a flush draw but the river sent him the double.

After two days and six starting flights, all Event 5 players will be in the same room at the same time. They all have one goal, to become the next, big Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown champion.
The $150 buy-in tournament drew nearly 2,000 entries to crush the $150,000 and push it up to $236,760. A fine return on the $150 investment.
We have 191 players returning for Day 2 with Sean Perry leading the way holding 341,000. Also returning are Anthony Astarita, Will Givens, Marcus Stein, Evan Teitelbaum, Sean Shah, Charlemagne Benjamin, Seminole Hard Rock Tampa poker ambassador Wally Maddah, and Seminole Hard Rock Poker team member Jessica Dawley.
Only 117 of those 191 players will earn a piece of the big prize pool with the eventual champion banking more than $50,000. We expect to hit the money bubble early in the day then play down toward a winner later this evening.
Players are taking their seats, unbagging their chips, and Day 2 will be underway shortly.

$150 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) Level 14: 1,200/2,400 with a 400 ante Players Remaining: 63 of 492
Team SHRP member Jessica Dawley raised to 5,500 from under the gun and a player in middle position moved all in for 30,000. The player in the big blind called and Dawley moved all in for 72,000.
The big blind flashed and tossed it into the muck, leaving Dawley heads-up with the player in middle position.
Dawley showed and was up against her opponent’s . The board ran out and Dawley more than doubles up with a set of kings.
Dawley stacked her chips while the big blind lamented not calling the bet, having what would’ve been the nut flush.
