PokerStars Ambassador Maria Konnikova just arrived at Seminole Hard Rock Casino & Hotel and hopped right into Event 15 the $1,100 Six Max.

Maria is a two-time New York Times best-selling author. For a little more than a year now she has been under the tutelage of professional poker player Erik Seidel, fully immersing herself in the poker world.

Prior to this exercise, she had never played a single hand of poker, and has since racked up more than $230,000 in tournament earnings.  She even scored a Platinum Pass for herself during the PCA by winning the $1650 PCA National event for $84,600.

There is currently one more platinum pass up for grabs this SHRPO series.

When asked about the property she said, “I’m excited to see the renovations, the model looks awesome.”

Cards just went in the air so she is sitting with her 15,000 starting stack.
