2022 Escalator VI Series Event 3 Champion Harrison Luba

Event 3 of the 2022 Escalator VI Series was a $400 No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry). A field of 1,186 entries generated a prize pool of $403,240, easily surpassing the $300,000 guarantee.

A five-way deal was reached at the final table and as the chip leader, Harrison Luba was the official winner, earning $39,786 for his showing.

“I’m on vacation here with family,” Luba said afterward. “We were supposed to leave tonight at 8, but I changed my flight and am leaving tomorrow. It worked out well.”

Luba hails from Lynnfield, Massachusetts, and as an 18-year old cannot actually play in his home state yet, although he does play in neighboring New Hampshire.

He came into Day 2 with an above-average stack of 47 big blinds, sitting 50th in chips of the remaining 150 players. By the time the final table was reached, Luba was among the shorter stacks. However, he quickly ascended and knocked out three consecutive players to seize the chip lead, en route to his being the official winner after the five-way deal.
