Aggressive players love mixing it up in bounty tournaments and today brings the first one on the 2015 Seminole Hard Rock Lucky Hearts Poker Open schedule. It’s possible for players to finish short of the money yet profit if they knock enough opponents out of the event.
The tournament has a $350 buy-in with $200 of that going to the prize pool and $100 as a bounty on each player. Knock someone out, tournament staff will toss you a black chip worth $100. There is a $25,000 guaranteed prize pool with this event and players may only re-enter once if they are eliminated.
They begin with 15,000 stacks and 30-minute levels. Late registration and that one re-entry is available until the start of Level 9. This is a one day tournament and should play to completion.
Player instructions are complete and cards are in the air.
Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ’N’ Roll” Poker Open Event 11: $250 Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold ‘Em (Re-Entry)
November 23, 2014
Total Entries: 171 Total Prize Pool: $18,810
He was actually signed up for a cash game, decided he didn’t want to wait anymore and signed up for Event 11. The rest of the field wished he hadn’t as Alexander Daranyi steamrolled his way to a Seminole Hard Rock “Rock N’ Roll” Poker Open Championship.
Daranyi controlled this tournament from the outset and entered the final table with over 33% of the chips in play. He eliminated 3 more players before the rest of the field realized it was time to take whatever they could walk away with and agree to a chop.
With a deal in place, Daranyi walked away with $4,900 and the championship. David Rodriguez had the second largest stack and took 2nd place honors and $3,500. He was followed by 3rd place finisher Yakou Beim, Jason Levine in 4th, Gedas Bertulis in 5th and Jose Chapui in 6th.
“I ran great and played great. The biggest threat was the guy to my left (Rodriguez) and the ace-five vs. kings hand against him was probably the one less-than-marginal play I’d made all night. Otherwise every hand I was in was a flip or I was ahead and thank goodness every flip I had I won.”
On the final hand, Daranyi was holding jacks and decided to flat against two players then drawing the last one in setting up the double elimination that essential ended the tournament and sealed his victory. After both players hit an open-ended straight draw to create the sweat, the final two cards ran out in his favor and sent everyone away happy but especially Daranyi.
“It’s a pretty good score – I’ll take it. Now I’m going to head home and get some sleep.” Primarily a cash game player, the win is Daranyi’s first major tournament title. And as handily as he won, it will be one he and his opponents will never forget.
Congratualtions to Alexander Daranyi, our Event 11 Champion!

It was a night to remember for Alexander Daranyi.
When Daranyi put up a double elimination to cut the field to six and add to his already massive chip stack, there was no question who the champion was – deal or no deal. All it took was one look by the rest of the players at the end of the table to see it was time to walk away with every dime they could. And with that, Daranyi put up the most dominating performance in an event this series on his way to the Event 11 victory.
With the chop, Alexander Daranyi takes the Event 11 title and wins $4900. The excited David Rodriguez came in 2nd and is glad he’ll be able to use SHRPO.com to prove to his wife he was here along with $3500 in winnings. Yakou Beim ended up the chip counts in 3rd and wins $1947. Jason Levine finished in 4th for $1544 followed by Gedas Bertulis in 5th taking $1265 and Jose Chapui in 6th for $1100. Also part of the agreement – the players all kept their bounties for some extra spending money.
Congratulations to all six players for a well-played tournament and our champion, Alexander Daranyi!
