Ricard Whitebrook was happy to make the final table and was all-in shortly after Angel Vu was sent to the rail.

He was all-in when his Ah9h was out-flopped by Mohamed Maghraoui’s KdTd. Whitebrook picked up a flush draw but was unable to outdraw to stay alive. Whitebrook finished in 9th place for $878.

Event 11: Angel Descends

$560 Buy-In Double Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out
Level 17: 2k/4K/500 ante

Angel Vu keeps chasing the cash, final tables, and Player of the Year points. She cashed earlier in Event 8 before hopping in Event 11. Vu survived a rough day but made the money and the final ten-player table.

That is where her run ended for the evening when she got all-in with Td8d against Ilias Liapas and 2c2h

“I have two overs!” Vu laughed.

She missed the QcJs7s flop but picked up some outs, none of which appeared on the Qd turn or 6d river. The hand sent Vu out of the tournament in 10th and they formed the official final table.

Bernard Lubitz
Bernard Lubitz

Ilias Liapis is in the small blind and shoves in the dark (without looking at his cards) into his neighbor Bernard Lubitz in the big blind. Lubitz makes the call.

Lubitz: Ah4h
Liapis: 3c9s

Lubitz is ahead pre-flop, but the board is not kind to him as it runs out 3s2s9d4cQc and Liapis makes 2 pair to eliminate Lubitz in 11th place. Lubitz gets $769 for his efforts today. We are now at our final table of 10.

Event 11: Chiappetta Bubbles

$560 Buy-In Double Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out
Level 16: 1500/3K/ 500 ante

It may have taken a long time to burst the bubble from 13 to 12 players but they got there in a hurry once they returned from break.

Michael Chiappetta was contemplating his action with the board reading TcTd3c when he finally decided to move all-in. Ilias Liapis called about as quickly as possible.

Chiappetta picked up AxAx on the money bubble but they were in a lot of trouble against Liapis’ flopped full house with 3h3d. There was no help for Chiappetta on the 8d turn or 5h river to make him the unlucky bubble boy.

Liapis picked up another $200 bounty and all players are now in the money.

Level 16: 1500/3K/ 500 ante

Players are now on their 15 minute break. They are at 13 players, with 12 getting paid, and have been for the past hour. The closest we got to an elimination was when Bernard Lubitz went all in for his last 7300 and was looked up by Mike Chiapetta.

Lubitz: JsJh
Chiapetta: JcKh

The board didn’t burst the money bubble as it came 3d10h6d5h8s and Lubitz doubled up.

As players return from break, they’ll be moving onto Level 16 of play.

Event 11: Rockets No Good

$560 Buy-In Double Black Chip Bounty No Limit Hold’em Freeze-Out
Level 11: 500/1K/100 ante

We have 27 players left in Event 11, and on one of the 3 tables we see Jonathan Marks (Weston, FL) re-raise after a 10 falls on the river. His opponent makes the call and Marks tables pocket 10s for a rivered set. His opponent turns over his AhAd in frustration, which was good until that final card was dealt.

Marks is currently the chip leader in Event 11 with around 225K (225bbs) to his stack. Some other notable stacks are Zoltan Czinkota (Davie, FL) with 150K and Mohamed Maghraoui (Tampa, FL) with 112K.

Seminole Hard Rock Poker Player of the Year point leader Angel Vu is also still in the hunt after her AhQc held up to eliminate her opponent who was holding Ac9c.

The tournament rolled into the final level available for late registration with 113 players showing on the board. Some of those trying to pick up bounties include Zach Kessler, Angel Vu, Robert Campbell, and Dimas Martinez. Kessler and Vu are two more who entered the tournament after busting Event 8 short of the money.

One player not around anymore, 2004 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Raymer.
