Event 14: Jorge Gomez Eliminated In 9th Place ($778)

$350 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (FREEZE-OUT)
Level 18: Blinds 3,000/6,000/1,000 ante

A stunning hand for Jorge Gomez has set one of the biggest stacks to the rail.

Jorge Gomez and Vincent Mallia faced a board of 9sTs7sJh.  Mallia shoved his massive stack in and Gomez instantly called.

Gomez: 8s8s
Mallia: AhJs

Mallia needed some help against Gomez’s straight and got it as the As popped up on the river giving Mallia the bigger flush. Mallia barely had Gomez’s 140k remaining stack covered and Gomez had to walk away from the table. Gomez picks up $778 for the 9th place finish.

Event 14: Luke Doolittle Eliminated In 10th ($680)

It’s been a tough night for players running into aces. Luke Doolittle was no exception.

Doolittle shoved with 9h9s and was snap-called by Vincent Mallia with the pocket rockets. The board ran out 2s7sJcKsAs and sent Doolittle to the cage in 10th place for $680.

Shortly after the bubble, Helver Klaar took on Allen Beiler but couldn’t have been very happy with what he saw.

Klaar’s AJ ran into Beiler’s AA and did not catch up to send him out in 12th for $680.  Luis Pazmino also went out shortly afterward and was knocked out in 11th also winning $680.

The final table is being drawn and the remaining 10 players will now face off for the top prize of $10,691.

Event 14: In The Money!

$350 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (FREEZE-OUT)
Level 18: Blinds 3,000/6,000/1000 ante

The bubble has burst here in Event 14 with Jorge Gomez busting out Michael Belkin.

Belkin pushed it in pre-flop holding 8s7d and Gomez called and turned over 9h9d.  Gomez hit the 2h9c5s flop leaving Belkin needing running cards but an ace on the turn sealed the deal and left Belkin one short of the money.

Congratulations to everyone who made the money in Event 14!

Event 14: Gomez Cracks Aces, Rivera-Padilla Out In 14th

$350 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (FREEZE-OUT)
Level 17: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

In a spectacular hand, Jorge Gomez tried to steal a hand away from Michael Belkin and picked a very bad time to do it.

Belkin: AhAs
Gomez: Qh4s

Gomez got some of the help he needed with a 4d5h8d flop and the rest came on the turn as the Qc fell. The 2h hit ending the hand and giving Gomez the miracle double-up worth around 110,000 chips.

In the meantime, Jonathan Padilla was outflopped holding A-10 vs. Joe Budd’s 3-2. Budd flopped two pair and Padilla’s all-in move failed sending him out in 14th.

We are now hand-for-hand here in Event 14.

Event 14: Sorensen and Binns Gone, 14 Remain

$350 Big Stack No Limit Hold’em (FREEZE-OUT)
Level 17: Blinds 2,500/5,000/500 ante

Level 17 has not been lacking for action as two more players have fallen.

Michael Sorensen tried to make a push with Q-J but ran into Joe Budd’s kings and was out in 16th.

Then came the elimination of John Binns.  Binns was full of table antics including putting the needle to an elderly player after eliminating him and accusing a dealer of “obstrucing his view”.  But his table talk couldn’t carry him as he saw his huge stack dwindle down before his final hand.

Binns pushed his remaining stack in with As8d but ran into Vincent Mallia’s AsQd.  Binns looked like he dodged a bullet on a 4c9c8s taking the lead but it was almost as if karma struck after he called for second eight to hit.  The board ran out KdQs giving the hand to Mallia on the river and sending Binns to the rail in 15th place and out of the money.

14 players remain as we stand two from the money bubble.
