Francois-Charles Scapula might have the most interesting story about getting to the 2014 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open Championship, bubbling one tournament to get an entry into another.
Scapula was playing in the huge EPT Barcelona event just a few days ago and found himself one of five players who were eliminated on the money bubble. Tournament staff chopped up the bottom four spots to split among the five players but there was the matter of awarding a seat into the SHRPO Main Event.
The five of them played a quick Sit & Go and Scapula beat Randall Flowers heads up with win the seat. Flowers is also in the Championship field but he is nowhere near Scapula’s table.

A familiar face showed up this morning with a gift. Michael Prada and Angela Prada-Moed began their tournament day by delivering tasty treats to various tournament staff. The couple own Sweet Times Cupcakes in Miami, as well as some nice tournament results. Michael took down Event 3 a few weeks ago after tearing through the Turbo event, but he has a ways to catch up with his wife.
Angela Prada-Moed had a successful WSOP summer when she came one spot from winning a bracelet. She outlasted all but Will Givens in the 1,841-player field in $1,000 No Limit Hold’em Event 45, the runner-up spot paid her $189,632 and the envy of all sweet loving people.

It’s going to be a big day. Whatever the field looks like by the dinner break, it’s going to be memorable.
The first two flights of the tournament drew 777 players but Flight 1C should top them both if the crowd in the lobby was any indication. A few of those waiting for the floor to open were Ted Forrest, David Williams, and 2012 WSOP champion Greg Merson.
It’s the final day to enter the $10 million Guaranteed Championship. Late registration/re-entry closes around 8pm when the dinner break ends and Level 10 begins.
Cards are in the air and the final flight is underway.
