Event 17: 7 more

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 600/1200/ 200 ante

The floor staff has just announced that we’ll be playing 7 more hands before bagging and tagging for the night.

Here are some updates from the field, in their own words:

Event 17: Herm hauls in a pot

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 13: 600/1200/ 200 ante

Mark Herm fires out 3700 from middle position, prompting a call from Jeff Madsen and Mike Linster in the small blind. The big blind folds. Flop comes 4d8dQh. Linster checks. Herm bets 5400 and both Madsen and Linster call. Turn comes the 6h. Linster checks again. Herm fires out 7200. Madsen folds, Linster calls. 9s falls on the river, prompting another check from Linster. Herm then counts out the remainder of his chips, around 20K, and pushes all of them into the middle. Linster folds and Herm scoops up the pot and is sitting on just above 60K or so.

The last level of the night is underway and the push for the end of night chip lead bonuses is on.

Dan Heimiller took his shot, but came up short, according to his Tweet:

Event 17: Cowboys Crushed

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
End of Level 11: 500/1K/100 ante

Hank Siggon faces a raise from his opponent in seat 8, prompting him to push the rest of his stack into the middle. Seat 8 hesitantly calls Siggon’s all-in and sees the bad news when Siggon flips over his A8 to make trip eights. Seat 8 turns over his KK before sadly throwing his cards in the muck. Siggon is sitting on 76K now.

Players are now on 15 minute break. When they come back they’ll be playing Level 12: 600/1200/ 200 ante. 207 players remain.

Event 17: Kuether climbing

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 500/1K/100 ante

Joe Kuether
Joe Kuether

On a board showing 3c3d10sKh, both Joseph Kuether and the player on the button check. The river is the 8s. Kuether then fires out a bet of 7500. The player on the button then thinks it over for a bit and looks at his cards before finally calling. Kuether flips over JhJc for 2 pair, Jacks and Threes. The button player throws his cards into the muck. Kuether is sitting on about 200K or so.

Event 17: Not Enough Diamonds for Wolak

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)

Level 11: 500/1,000/100 ante

On a flop of 9d7d4c Marsha Wolak was all-in against Dan Alspach, who was happy to call with his KsKd.  Marsha held QdTd and was calling for a diamond.

This time, diamonds were not the girl’s best friend.  The last two cards fell 9s8c and were no help to Marsha.  She hit the rail — not sure if she’ll be back tomorrow or not.

Event 17: Recent Chirps

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)
Level 11: 500/1K/100 ante

Here’s some recent bustouts from today’s field:

Event 17: Linster Makes Good Call

$5,300 Championship NLH $10 Million Guaranteed (Re-Entry)

Level 11: 500/1,000/100 ante

Mike Linster 3-bet 5,500 pre-flop and got a call from seat 7.  The flop fell Kc7h6d and both players checked.

Turn was the 2h and seat 7 bet 4,300.  Mike called.

River was the 8h and seat 7 bet 11,300, more than half Mike’s remaining chips.  Mike took about a minute, then made the call.

His opponent was reluctant to show, so Mike tabled his JsJc.  His opponent mucked and Mike chipped up to about 57k.

“I was up to 100k” Mike said.  Apparently on a previous hand, he had A9 suited on a flop of A 9 4 — but his opponent had pocket 4s and had flopped a set.  Mike shipped a big piece of his stack on that hand, but is working his way back now.
