Gleason needed a six to double up, stay alive and keep play going for the night, but a board of Ts4c3hKs9d sent him to the rail in 28th place.

Gleason earned $20,463 for his finish and Bazeley won the pot with a better ace-high. With 27 players remaining, the final 27 players will redraw for new seats at the final three tables and play will conclude for the night.

The flop came KhKcTd.

“That’s a good flop,” Failla said flatly.

The turn was the Ks, giving him unbeatable quads.

Come on!” he protested with the dealer. “Why you waste it all on one hand?”

The river was the Qd, and Failla doubled up with all of the kings.

Jonathan Jaffe opened to 20,000 in early position, and Alan Sternberg three-bet to 55,000 two seats over. From the big blind, Jonathan Little four-bet to 158,000, and that was enough to fold Jaffe out of the way. Sternberg moved all in with his big stack, though, and Little called all in for just over 600,000 total to put himself at risk and the largest pot of the day up for grabs.

Sternberg: AdKd
Little: KsKc

The As7c5c flop was bad news for Little, and the 5h turn and 6c river completed the board to send him to the rail in 31st place. Sternberg won the largest pot of the day, surging into the overall chip lead in the process.

Lyons: AcKh
Van Sanford: QsQh

The 4s2d2d flop was good news for Van Sanford, but the Ah on the turn was a disaster. Drawing dead to two outs, he could not catch back up, and the Tc river sealed his elimination. Lyons won the flip with aces up.

WPT Finale: Tim West Gets Most of Jason Koon’s Stack

$10,000 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Finale
Level 17: 4,000/8,000 with a 1,000 Ante
Players Remaining: 42 of 349

Tim West

Just the tail end of a pot here, but one worth mentioning. The board showed TsTc5c6sJc, and there was somewhere around 110,000 in the pot. In heads-up action, Jason Koon bet 70,000 from middle position, and Tim West raised to 300,000 in the cutoff.

Koon needed some time to think as he talked though West’s potential holdings. “Jacks full, or…” he trailed off. “I’m not supposed to fold this.” Eventually, he called.

West showed 6d6h for sixes full, and it was good. Koon spun his cards into the muck, with the 9c flipping face-up on the felt. “Ace-high flush,” he lamented. “What the f*** are you gonna do, man?”

Dragging that big pot, West appears to be the overall chip leader.

Tim West – 915,000 (114 bb)
Jason Koon – 70,000 (9 bb)
