Event 24: Ryan Laplante Eliminated By Asher Conniff

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 10: 500/1,000 with a 100 ante
Players: 750

A player in early position raised to 2,200 and Javier Zarco called. A player in middle position called, and then Ryan Laplante, who won a World Series of Poker gold bracelet this summer, three-bet all in for 17,000 from the hijack.

Asher Conniff then four-bet all in over the top for 30,300 from the button, both blind folded, and the original raiser got out of the way. Zarco, who had the big stack, then moved all in, and that prompted the middle-position player to fold.

Conniff: AhAc
Zarco: KsKh
Laplante: KdQs

The Qh7cAs turn gave Conniff a hammer lock on the hand with top set, but the Jd turn delivered both Zarco and Laplante a Broadway draw to a ten. It didn’t come in though as the 2h bricked on the river.

Asher Conniff – 94,000
Javier Zarco – 40,000
Ryan Laplante – Eliminated

Event 24: Phillip Hui Sends One to the Rail

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Players: 688

While his girlfriend Loni Harwood is busy playing the $25,000 High Roller across the hall, Phillip Hui is doing quite well in this event.

In a recent hand, action folded to Hui, who is sitting on a good pile of chips, and he simply moved all in from the button to put the pressure on the short-stacked blinds. The small blind called off for roughly 14,000 while the player in the big got out of the way.

Hui: Qd10s
Small Blind: Ac9d

Hui needed to improve, but that didn’t happen on the 3h4s5h flop. The Jc turn was of no consequence, but the 10c river was. Hui made a pair and sent his opponent to the rail.

Phillip Hui – 70,000

Event 24: Ryan Van Sanford Scores Double Elimination

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 9: 400/800 with a 100 ante
Players: 688

We missed the action unfold, but we do know that three players got their chips all in preflop. Ludovic Geilich was all in for his last 4,700, while a lady in early position was in for 14,800. Ryan Van Sanford had them both covered and at risk.

Van Sanford: 10s10h
Geilich: JdJh
Opponent: AdKs

The AhAc8c was gin for the early-position player, and all she had to do after the 9s turn was avoid a ten and jack on the river. That didn’t happen though as the 10s spiked to give Van Sanford a full house and the double elimination.

Geilich quickly made his was to the registration desk to re-enter and is already back in action.

Ryan Van Sanford – 45,000
Ludovic Geilich – 15,000 (re-entered)

Event 24: Andrew Dean from the Big Blind

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 8: 300/600 with a 75 ante
Players: 579

Action folded to a short-stacked player on the button and he jammed for 3,775. The small blind called, and then Andrew Dean did the same from the big blind. Both active players proceeded to check it down as the board ran out 4c9c5d3h7h.

The player in the small blind showed the Jd8c, which was behind the at-risk player’s Js10h. However, Dean had them both beat with his Ah7d rivered pair of sevens.

Meanwhile, Luke Arora has been eliminated from the tournament.

Andrew Dean – 37,000
Luke Arora – Eliminated

Event 24: Huge Pot Sent to Aaron Massey

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 250/500 with a 75 ante
Players: 579

We missed the action unfold, but we do know that a raising war on a 7c6s9d flop saw Aaron Massey, who back in May won the Mid-States Poker Tour FireKeepers Casino for nearly $175K, get it in against two opponents, one who was all in for 15,000 and the other 35,000.

Massey, who had them both covered, held the best hand.

Massey: 9h7h
Opponent #1: KdKs
Opponent #2: 8d4d

Neither the 3h turn nor 2h river had a bearing on the hand, and Massey scooped a big pot to close in on 100K.

Aaron Massey – 95,000

Event 24: One for Robert “Carwash” Williams

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 7: 250/500 with a 75 ante
Players: 579

The under-the-gun player limped, Allen Kessler did the same from middle position, and the player in the small blind came along. Robert “Carwash” Williams checked his option from the big and four players saw a flop of 4d8s8d, which they all checked.

After the dealer burned and turned  the 2h, the small blind led out for 1,050 and only Williams called to see the 2s river. The small blind bet again, this time 2,400, and Williams opted just to call.

The small blind showed a bluff with the 7c3d, and Williams rolled over the 8h3h for a full house and the win.

Robert “Carwash” Williams – 23,000

Event 24: Luke Arora Doubles in Last Hand of Level 6

$1,100 No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 6: 200/400 with a 50 ante
Players: 579

With around 3,500 in the pot and a flop of Jd6c2h, the players in the small and big blinds both checked to Luke Arora, who earlier this year won the Mid-States Poker Tour Running Ace Main Event for $83,773.

Arora bet 800 from the under-the-gun position, the small blind folded, and the player in the big called to see the Kd turn. The big blind checked and Arora moved all in for his last 6,175. His opponent didn’t seem excited, but made the call nonetheless.

Arora: Kh7h
Big Blind: [6d7d]

Arora pulled ahead by pairing his king on the turn, but his opponent picked up a flush draw to go with his pair of sixes. The dealer burned one last time and put out the 2s, a safe card to give Arora the double.

Luke Arora – 18,000
