Tom Chae limped in from early position, the player next to act called, as did David Peters, Eric Wasserson, and Dan Colman in the next three seats. That brought the action to Byron Kaverman in the small blind. After about a minute, Paul Volpe asked, “Is it on me?” from the big blind.

“Wait a couple minutes, and it’ll be on you,” Wasserson took the opportunity to needle Kaverman about his deliberate play.

Kaverman eventually completed for the extra 1,000, and Volpe checked his option in the big blind.

The flop was 6s4c3d, and all seven players checked. The turn was the 6h, pairing the board, and Kaverman checked again. Volpe bet 10,000, and six folds came quickly to give him the small pot. Volpe tabled KdQs.

“I had you beat,” Wasserson said. “Not gonna lie.”

“I figured I had to show it,” Volpe said with a smile as the dealer pushed him the chips.

Paul Volpe – 210,000

$25,500 High Roller No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 6: 600/1,200 with a 200 ante
Entries: 85

Kyle Keranen had just over 20,000 chips left when he got himself all in preflop against Ray Qartomy.

Keranen: AdJd
Qartomy: JhJc

The board ran out 8c4s2c2d2s, and Qartomy won the pot with deuces full of jacks.

Keranen was among the chip leaders on the first break, but things did not go so well for him in the second set of levels. It’s not clear how he lost the majority of his chips, but it looks like Qartomy got a good chunk of them prior to this hand.

Qartomy was the one struggling during the first few levels of the day, but that knockout pot moves him close to 200,000 chips as he continues to rebound from his early setbacks.

Ray Qartomy – 195,000
Kyle Keranen – Eliminated
