Andy Frankenberger was in the big blind and Michael Mizrachi was under gun. The pair was heads up on a flop of 7h5h4c. Frankenberger checked to Mizrachi who bet 5,000. Frankenberger ran the action clock to within the 10-second window and then announced, “15,000.’ Mizrachi had Frankenberger covered and put him at a decision for tournament life three-betting all in. Frankenberg called with the best of it.

The turn fell the 2h and the river the 9c. Frankenberger held and doubled through Mizrachi.

They were heads up to the Tc7c3d flop and Patterson check/raised Conniff all-in. Patterson was on a flush draw with Qc4c against Conniff’s AcAs.

The board finished with the 8s turn and the 7s river to send Conniff the double.

The WPT Tournament of Champions had an exclusive field, filled with 64 title-holders from around the world. Less than half of them made it through the first day and come back today to the Paradise Live Theater. Here they will play down to the televised final table of six for taping in Hard Rock Live tomorrow.

WPT Amsterdam winner Farid Yachou leads the way at the restart with local legend Michael “The Grinder” Mizrachi in second and our 2016 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Champion Justin Young in third.

Last year’s WPT Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown Champion Griffin Paul is still in along with WPT Player of the Year Anthony Zinno and 2015 WPT World Champion Asher Conniff.

They will take their seats at noon and we’ll wrap up the day when we have six remaining.
