2022 RRPO Event 38 Champion David Shmuel

Event 38 of the 2022 Seminole Hard Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open was a $400 H.O.R.S.E. (Re-Entry), and a field of 91 entries created a prize pool of $30,485. A three-handed deal was reached at the final table, and as the chip leader it was Seminole Hard Rock poker regular David Shmuel who was the official winner for $7,471.

This marked Shmuel’s sixth SHRP major series trophy win, putting him in a tie with Scott Baumstein, and trailing only Raminder Singh (9), Brian Altman (7), Yuval Bronshtein (7), Gabe Ramos (7), Michael Newman (7), and David Prociak (7). The win (along with Shmuel’s 59th-place finish earlier in the day in the Championship event) puts Shmuel past the $600K mark in career live tournament winnings according to the Hendon Mob poker database.

H.O.R.S.E. is such a popular game during our series, we decided to put two of them on the RRPO schedule. The $600 version ran last weekend and today we have one with a $400 buy-in at noon.

They’ll sit down to 12,000 stacks and all levels last 30 minutes for the one-day mix game. Late registration and unlimited re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30 pm. A 40-minute dinner break is schedule at 6 pm and they’ll come back to find our last H.O.R.S.E. champ of the series.

2022 SHRPO Event 38 Champion Filippos Stavrakis

Event 38 of the 2022 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open was a $600 Deep Stack Stack Turbo No-Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry) tournament. A field of 65 entries produced a prize pool of $34,450. Emerging victorious was Filippos Stavrakis, winning outright for $12,060.

For Stavrakis, it’s also his second trophy win of the series, having previously won Event 28 a few days ago.

“It’s funny, I told my son I was going to win one of these this series, and he said why stop at one?” said Stavrakis afterward. “This is actually my least favorite game, but I had busted the Omaha event and jumped in this one. It worked out well.”
