Event 7 Champion Adam Lamphere (Nashville, MI) is back in action today looking to continue his twelve-month heater.

Starting off with a runner-up at a MSPT event last August, Lamphere added three WSOP cashes to his resume including a 41st finish in this year’s Main Event.  Picking off the victory here just a couple of days ago, Adam will try to put together another deep run and get a piece of this 1 Million Dollar Guarantee.

Lamphere entered the break at 45,150 chips here in Flight 1C.

Event 8: Pantoja Gets There

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Paul Pantoja was all set to leave the tournament area but instead leaves behind a nice stack on the break.

He was all-in at the start of Level 4 with AhKc and the 9-seat called after a long tank.

“Oh, you got me,” his opponent said when he tabled AdQd. It went smoothly for Pantoja on the Jc5h3s flop but wasn’t looking good when the turn came Qs. Pantoja was out of his seat then paused and clapped when the dealer pealed a river Ts for Broadway.

Pantoja is up to 49,500 as the players head off on their first break of the day.

Event 8: “You Can’t See Me”

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200

Thomas Collazo got caught in a game of peek-a-boo.

The Miami resident was in a three-way pot on the button that had already gotten to 6,500 pre-flop.  With a 10h9c2h flop, the two players in front of Collazo checked around and Thomas followed.

The turn brought the 7s and Collazo’s opponents once again check to him.  Collazo bet 2,300 and the player two seats to his left makes a reluctant call.

With a 5s on the river and Collazo staring down his competition, the player begins to move his hand up and down over his eyes with a smile trying to break Thomas’s concentration.  Collazo would have none of it and fired out a 3,100 chip bet and got his opponent to show a pair of 8’s before the fold.

Event 8: Ryan Tepen Takes One Down

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150

More top pros are making their presence felt in Event 8 including Ryan Tepen who played Flight 1A yesterday but skipped 1B for a night on the town with some friends.

Tepen quickly found himself in a five-way pot.  Out of the small blind, Tepen fired at a 9hQs2H board getting only caller from the button.  After an 8c fell on the turn, both players checked.  An 8h on the river brought an bet from Tepen and a quick fold from his opponent giving Tepen the hand and a solid pot to add to his stack.

Event 8: Tran Flops Boat and Sinks Opponent

$560 Buy-In Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)

Level 15:  Blinds 1,500/3,000/500 ante

Thong Tran
Thong Tran

On a flop of  Q Q 6, the player in seat 9 shoved and Thong Tran snap-called, showing pocket 6s for a full house.  His opponent was in bad shape holding KQ for trips and needing a King or Queen (4 outs) to survive.

River was an 8 and seat 9 hit the rail.  Tran chipped up to about 235k, putting him among the chip leaders.

With ten minutes remaining in the level, they stopped the clock and ordered all tables to play 4 more hands, then bag up for the night.
