Event 9 was the third big, multi-starting flight tournament with on the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown schedule and the players came out in huge numbers. The $570 buy-in tournament had a $1 Million Guarantee that was surpassed early on Saturday afternoon and grew to $1,461,500 when registration closed later that evening. With the big crownd, the tournament needed an extra day to complete and it was Ruslan Dykshteyn taking the top prize of $184,705 plus the trophy.

The tournament drew nearly 3,000 entrants over the six starting flights with 567 of them moving to Day 2 action on Sunday. Only the last 250 players would earn a piece of the money and the bubble burst with two quick eliminations on the same hand.

Several players spent time on top the chip count leaderboard, including WPT World Champion Asher Conniff, but it was three-time WSOP champion Robert Mizrachi holding the lead when they paused action at 3am with 11 players remaining.

Local regular Zoltan Czinkota was quickly eliminated on the bonus day to set up the final table. Mizrachi continued to lead the final table as players busted at a steady clip. Dykshteyn took over the lead late when he eliminated Joel Dickerson and Safiya Umerova.

The four remaining players made a deal to chop up the remaining prize pool with each getting over $100,000. Dykshteyn took the biggest piece and Mizrachi was only $10K behind.

“I now have a trophy to go along with my ring,” Dykshteyn joked as he prepared for his winner’s photo.

Dykshteyn was very happy with his tournament victory and this is the second biggest cash in his career, not far behind the money he earned for winning the 2014 WSOP Circuit Main Event in West Palm Beach.
