Alan Sternberg

The $10,000 WPT Seminole Hard Rock Finale is down to its final six players and for the second consecutive day, Alan Sternberg bagged up the chip lead.

Sternberg finished with 4,605,000 and has a sizable lead over the other five players. 2013 WSOP Main Event Champion Ryan Riess comes into the final day second in chips with 3,090,000. Tim West, Cliff Josephy, Terry Schumacher, and Jason Koon round out the final table.

The day started with 27 players, all of them in the money, but over the course of the day, the field was trimmed down to just six.

Anthony Spinella, Pat Lyons, Will Failla, Harrison Gimbel, Ray Qartomy, Kunal Patel, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, and Jake Cody were among the notable pros that hit the rail prior to the final table redraw.

They got down to the final nine players just before the dinner break and they went on a 60-minute dinner break at 6:30 p.m. with three more eliminations before play would wrap up for the night.

After the break, it didn’t take much more than one level of play to get down to six. Marvin Rettenmaier was eliminated in ninth place for $70,103, Jonathan Jaffe hit the rail in eighth place for $89,609 and Josh Kay was the first player to bust and take home a six-figure score.

Kay bubbled the live streamed final table, finishing in seventh place for $109,412.

There is still about an hour left in the current level and when cards get back in the air on Thursday at noon, levels will be reduced to an hour. It will be live streamed on WPT.com
