$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 5: 150/300 with a 50 Ante
Flight C Entrants: 340

Pedro Arez Fernandez holds the early lead

Players returned to their seats and they now know they have to chase down Pedro Arez Fernandez with the chip lead. In only two hours, he ran his 20,000 stack up to 75,000 for the biggest in the room.

Mario Hudson is his closest competitor with more than 60,000 but there’s plenty of time for players to move to the top.

Top stacks and notables:

Pedro Arez Fernandez – 75,000 (250 bb)
Mario Hudson – 60,650 (202 bb)
Scott Lenter – 58,975 (197 bb)
Steve Leahy – 55,750 (186 bb)
Michael Rannelli – 52,400 (175 bb)
Mike Dubreuil – 51,000 (170 bb)
Vasilii Leshchenko – 50,900 (170 bb)
Howard Darnold – 50,800 (169 bb)
Adam Curry – 50,500 (168 bb)
Bobby Jinks – 45,000 (150 bb)
Jacquelyn Scott – 43,750 (146 bb)

Event 1 Flight C: Jinks Gets Two

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
End of Level 4: 100/200 with a 25 Ante
Flight C Entrants: 310

Bobby Jinks
Bobby Jinks

Before Flight C players went on break, newcomer Bobby Jinks found a nice spot to pick up a big hand.

We caught the action as the dealer was creating two side pots with former SHRP champ Raminder Singh all-in along with another opponent while Jinks and Nigel Murray took a ride with them. It was four-ways to the 8h8s4s flop when three bets saw Jinks get all-in and at risk as well.

Murray had a big pair with QhQd but was dominated by Jinks’ KhKd. Singh tabled Jh4c, the other all-in player had QcJs to put both far behind as well. The hand held up as the board finished with the 7h turn and Tc river to send two players out and run Jinks up to 45,000 before the first break.

Event 1 Flight C: Scott Pushing Us Higher

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 4: 100/200 with a 25 Ante
Flight C Entrants: 297

Jacquelyn Scott (Fort Lauderdale, FL)
Jacquelyn Scott (Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Flight C is only a few entries away from hitting 300 and we have a WSOP bracelet winner in the house among them.

Jacquelyn Scott was the last player standing in the 2015 WSOP Ladies Championship to bring the title back to South Florida, along with more than $150,000 for the feat. In recent news, she made back-to-back final tables in our $150 Saturday Deep Stack Special in early October.

Scott is among the growing crowd and they are about to hit their first break of the day.

Event 2: POY Prociak Gets In

$300 Limit Omaha/8 (Re-Entry)
Level 2: 150/300 Limits
Entrants: 45

David Prociak (Orlando, FL)
David Prociak (Orlando, FL)

The Omaha/8 tournament kicked off on schedule with a nice, talented field here in early action including reigning Seminole Hard Poker Player of the Year David Prociak.

The Orlando pro picked up his POY hardware thanks to a great run in 2015/2016 and he hasn’t slowed down. Prociak also enjoys a little four-card poker and he picked up another trophy in the Pot Limit Omaha game during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open this summer.

Event 1 Flight C: Blumenfield Firing Again

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 3: 75/150 with a 25 Ante
Flight C Entrants: 220

Neil Blumenfield

With less than 20% of the starting fields expected to make it through to Day 2, it’s not uncommon to see some players taking multiple shots at the big prize pool.

Former November Niner Neil Blumenfield is one of them but he doesn’t plan to make it a habit. The 2015 WSOP Main Event third place finisher tried to get through in both Flights A and B but was unable to carry it forward to Sunday.

Event 2: Looking for the Split Pot Champion

$300 Limit Omaha/8 (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 100/200 Limits

SHRP Showdown Chips

We still have six flights to power through in Event 1 but we’ll find our first 2016 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” champion while they play down.

Event 2 is a $300 buy-in tournament and they’ll be playing some Limit Omaha/8 all day long. The split-pot game draws a smaller crowd but it will be a talented group of players trying to scoop their opponents.

Each entrant will sit down to a 10,000 starting stack and they’ll play 30-minute levels from start to finish. Late registration is available until the start of Level 9 at 4:30pm and they can re-enter during that time if they manage to bust a stack. This is scheduled as a one-day tournament and we’ll have our first champion of the series before the night is through.

Action gets underway at noon and we’ll keep an eye on them as the cruise through the day.

  • Players begin with 10,000 in chips and 30-minute levels
  • Late registration/re-entry available until start of Level 9
  • This is a one-day tournament and plays until completion

Event 1 Flight C: Moving Up

$360 Deep Stack No Limit Hold’em (Re-Entry)
Level 1: 25/50
Flight C Entrants: 150

Stuart Greenbaum (Hollywood, FL)

Cards went in the air for Flight C on time and the ballroom is quickly filling with 150 entrants in the game before we were very far into the first level.

Stuart Greenbaum was found at the front of the room and trying to run up another stack. The three-time SHRP champ had the biggest stack at the first break of Flight A but that did not translate into a bag of chips at the end of the day.

2016 SHRPO Ballroom

Wednesday was a great opening day for the 2016 Seminole Hard Rock “Rock ‘N’ Roll Poker Open” with a big turnout for the first two flights of the $1 Million Guaranteed Event 1.

The first flight drew an impressive 403 entrants to the Poker Room to kick things off and they followed up with another 443 entrants in the evening session inside the ballroom. That puts us well on the way to hitting the seven-digit guaranteed prize pool with six more flight to go. Of those 846 entrants, only 160 are still around for a chance at the money on Day 2.

Today brings another two flights into the $360 buy-in tournament with the first set to go at the top of the hour and Flight D running at 6pm this evening.

Entrants will sit down to 20,000 starting stacks and play 30-minute levels throughout the day. Late registration and re-entries are available until the start of Level 9 at 3:30pm and they will continue to play down until the end of Level 14. Any players remaining with a stack will put their chips in a bag with a return for Day 2 on Sunday.

We expect another big day this afternoon and looking to get one step closer to the $1,000,000 prize pool.
