Katie Stone has worn many different hats in her life (figuratively speaking), from being a young ball girl for Houston Rockets to an entrepreneur starting a company that created chess camps for kids to a professional poker player to becoming a poker instructor for LearnWPT.

Stone has been making the trip down to Hollywood, Florida to play in more of our events recently, and we’re always happy to see her in our fields.

T.K. Miles moved all in from middle position for 23,500, and Scott Wright moved all in from the button for 22,000 with KsKc.

Miles turned over Qh10s, and Wright needed his hand to hold to stay alive.

The board came Jd9h5c9cQc — Miles flopped an open-ended straight draw and paired his queen on the river, but it wasn’t enough. The pocket kings held up for Wright to win the pot and double up in chips.

Miles was knocked down to a single big blind.

Scott Wright  –  47,500  (32 bb)
T.K. Miles  –  1,500  (1 bb)

Dalis Gomez

The next hand, Miles called all in UTG+1 for 1,500, Dalis Gomez raised from middle position to 3,500, and Joe McKeehen called from the big blind.

There was 6,000 in the main pot (what Miles qualified for), and another 4,000 in the side pot.

The flop came Ad4c3s, McKeehen checked, Gomez bet 2,000, and McKeehen folded. Gomez took the side pot.

For the main pot, Miles turned over Jd7h for jack high, and he needed to catch something runner-runner to stay alive against Gomez’s Ah8d (pair of aces).

The turn card was the Qd, the river card was the Qs, and Gomez won the pot with two pair, aces and queens, to eliminate Miles from the tournament.

Dalis Gomez  –  140,000  (93 bb)
T.K. Miles  –  Eliminated

With about 220 players remaining from a field of 520, the average chip stack is about 47,500 (32 big blinds).
